Malkin was very very effective during the first three rounds. But he has been pretty average in the finals and if no one can see that then they should all go to Dr. Rahmani.

I work at a popular clothing store and I was on-call for work last night. Which usually means there is a 5% chance you will be working. Well guess what!!! Someone got tickets to the game and I got called in to replace whoever it was (I didn't ask). This is the second time in my 14 months of being employed there where I actually got called in. I was so pissed. And of course my shift was 5-10. So this is what I did. My bf and I traded phones for the night so I ended up with his iphone. I was assigned to the fitting room for the night, which is a little cave basically and hidden from the managers. From there I had the live score on the screen of the iphone and put it in a drawer in the folding table. So I was literally staring at the scoreboard the whole time until a customer/co-worker came and then I would shut the drawer. The store closes at 9, and then we spend the rest of the night folding and re-organizing everything. So at about 8:50 I put in my headphones and listened to the rest of the game on the radio while I was folding. Then at 10 I got off and made it home for the third. It sucked, but I made it work. It really sucks that you have to miss game 6, but if you can pull off something like I did you could be okay.

This is the difference. They are professionals. You are not.

Hank can't be the MVP. He cheats and covers up the puck in the crease and they lays across the goal line.

I completely agree. I played rugby for four years and at the end of every game the home team always took the visitors out for dinner or at least provided food to them before they went home. It's tradition for that sport, and I think this kind of sportsmanship needs to happen in more sports. Not skipping out on the media when you lose, skipping handshakes, or cheap shotting. These men are professionals who make millions to play their sport. It's time they start acting like professionals. Especially the players wearing the "C" or "A" (Crosby, Malkin, Pronger, Iginla, Niedermayer, etc.)

So I Wikipedia-ed hockey nicknames out of boredom and the page lists some nicknames for Z and Lidstrom that I have never ever heard anyone use. Lidstrom is apparently "St. Niklas" and Z is "Ice Berg." Since when? Also Yzerman is listed as "Stevie Wonder." I know I was young during most of his career but I would have remembered that. There were others I haven't ever heard before including Evgeni Nabakov: John Martin Brodeur: Satan's Wallpaper Marc-Andre Fleury: Rebounds, Flower Am I missing something? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ice_hockey_nicknames

Crosby probably has nightmares about Z every night. Or big wet dreams.

Datsyuk will play, Cleary "Questionable"
Lovin Jiri Fischer replied to NvrFrgtRussian5's topic in General
This better be true seeing what happened last time. The other day I was listening to 97.1 when they confirmed he would play. I then went to work and dealt with bitchy whiny customers all day, but with a smile on my face because Pavel was coming back. I got off at 8 and turned on the radio in my car to find out he actually wasn't playing. That was lame. -
Penguins top heavy in talent while Wings more evenly distributed

Yeah on the ice. Of the ice he cries like a baby. Oh wait...he does on the ice too. A.O's hattie anyone? Funny you didn't even attempt to defend Malkin's character. -
Yes. Thank you. Everyone about to jump off the bandwagon should do it immediately and if we win the Cup this year, next year, or any year, please don't hop back on because no one wants you on it.

Rank 5 best players in NHL today excluding goalies

And you just proved Pens fans bias against Ovechkin when you ranked him below Iginla, Z, and Crosby when he scored the most goals this year. Cry me a river. -
Is this today or tomorrow?

Mr. Perfect I've heard and Norris Nick. But this one no. Maybe I do live under a rock.

LOL at saying Malkin is far superior to Datsyuk. Datsyuk can put up pretty similar numbers AND play defense (Selke Trophy anyone?) Pens fans sound a little too cocky. And Staal is elite? He is not better than Dats, Z, Mule, or Hossa (when he's turned on) in my opinion. -

WCF GAME 4 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Penguins 4
Lovin Jiri Fischer replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Exactly. Although I don't know if Babcock was involved in the arguing but hearing this reminded me right away of the part in Miracle where Herb starts yelling at everyone and the entire locker room gets fired up in the Olympics. -

At least they're pissed. Better than being content. -
Yeah I would think giving up a shg and passing way too much and getting basically no shots a little "lagging"
-
You got me all excited thinking they were making appearances in game 5.

We have talked about this enough. As stated in the rulebook, it is a delay of game if you touch the puck ON THE ICE in the crease. Osgood is not made of ice. I suppose you think the Pens should have batted it in off Ozzie's back? Well then that would be goaltender interference for whacking him with a stick so the goal would not have counted. He didn't "glove the puck" in game 2. He blocked the puck from going in my falling to the ice. Not illegal. It's called playing defense. Our forwards do that. Yours don't. Nice try.
