Have there ever been hockey fans who blame a loss on the fact that the other team played better? Not saying the Wings played better. I thought last night was pretty even.

Yup Malking tshirt, Eastern Champs tshirt, and a couple pens hats I believe. I remember one other guy with them not wearing anything but I might be remembering wrong. It happened kinda quick. There were a lot of people representing the Wings today. I was so proud. We high fived whoever we could or yelled to them if they were kinda far away. Also (although unrelated) there was one guy with a Blackhawks hat next to us in line for the Mantis but he was boring and wouldn't talk even though we were trying. He looked really scared and wouldn't make eye contact with us even. I also noticed a Hejduk Colorado tshirt in one line, and a Sabres tshirt in line for the Maverick, but they didn't make the playoffs so no big deal to me. One guy asked my brother if Boston won last night lol.

Might have been the same guys. These guys looked young. They were so dumb. A lot of the ride engineers and game people said "GO BLACKHAWKS" to us while we were in line or walked past them. Game people I booed and thumbs downed. Ride people I smiled nicely because they had my life in their hands obviously. It was a good time.

I remember too at the end of the third period of that game people started singing "Sweet Caroline" (get it, because Carolina already clinched a spot in the finals???) Priceless.

Okay here we go. The best attempt at an insult ever came today. I'm calling it an "attempt" rather than an insult because it was just sad. My brother and boyfriend and I made our annual trip to Cedar Point today. We started the tradition of all of us wearing Wings gear to represent while we were there. Every time we see someone else in Red Wings clothing we high five them, and so on. So getting off one of the rides, we see a pack of Pens fans all wearing Malkin t-shirts and Pens hats, etc. So we started something friendly like "Ready for the rematch?" The Pens fans all replied saying that they would kick our asses if we met in the finals this year. To that reply, we jumped in adding that their best player against us in 2008 is now a Red Wing and therefore we have the upper hand. One of the Pens fans replied: "Dude. We don't even want Hossa. We just signed him last year for charity." We didn't even reply to that because we broke out laughing hysterically and some stranger in front of our pack completely unrelated to the conversation turned around and pointed out how stupid that sounded. Charity? That's why Pens fans are still crying and boo him all the time? That's why they wanted him to re-sign soooooo bad? Idiots.

Yeah the bandwagon one really gets me. I hate it especially when Pens fans say it because they were in danger of losing their team a few years ago and now all of a sudden the Pens are the best thing ever? Same with the Hawks. A few years ago, some of their games weren't even televised. Now everyone is following them. Hawks fans say it's not bandwagoning as much as it is "people finally relieved that their team is doing well." Isn't that the definition of bandwagon?

"Holmstrom is the dirtiest player in the league" (From a Ducks fan making it more ironic. And Holmstrom doesn't even do anything besides stand in front of the goalie) Wings are old (because the youth in Pittsburgh worked for them last year, and I don't expect the youth in Chicago to work miracles either) Wings are full of soft Euros (Because you wouldn't piss your pants if you saw Kronwall, Lilja, or Ericsson coming at you) Wings always buy their team (Which is why Zetterberg, Hossa, Franzen, and Lidstrom are all signed at lower than their value) Detroit is a s*** hole (I've seen areas of New York, Chicago, and other cities that aren't too pretty. And personally I don't care because most of us live in the suburbs anyway) And best of all... The Wings are so arrogant because they won 11 Stanley Cups (I'm sorry but when you win 11 Stanley Cups, there is no way to share that information with others without making your team sound awesome. The cup banner speak for themselves. 100% PURE FACT)

I can't believe some of you don' t think this is a big deal. This situation is hurting so many people not just in Detroit but all over the country and world. People are struggling to survive. Some people can't finish school and therefore will never have an opportunity to move up. It is very classless and pretty much disgusting to find joy out of this situation. It would be like going to a Rangers game and chanting "9/11" or going to Colorado and chanting "Columbine." While yes nobody has died as a direct result of the auto industry (outside of some suicides) the people here are hurting just like people of those cities were during those tragedies, and it would be equally classless for someone do do that.

I saw that too what they said about our economy. It's really disgusting that people actually think like this. And if any Blackhawks players knew about this, I would like to think that they would be embarassed and appalled that their fans represented them in that way.

No Watson??? I am shocked! Shocked I say! This is blasphemy!

Chicago is still in the playoffs too. They may have missed it the last few seasons, but they are coming back for sure and have lots of great young talent now. Boston had a great regular-season record this season (better than the Wings) and came close to making the conference finals. They made the playoffs the last two seasons. New York has made the playoffs the last 4 seasons I believe. Montreal has also made the playoffs the last 2 seasons and they were the #1 seed in the East last yer. Yeah the other Original 6 teams have not been as successful as the Wings recently, but honestly who has? The Wings have been arguably the best team in the NHL for well over a decade. Chicago, Boston, New York, and Montreal have not exactly been dominating the league, but they are by no means "failing." They have done pretty well. The only Original 6 team that I consider "failing" is Toronto for obvious reasons. Boy, does being a Wings fan make other good teams look inferior though.

Who cares? If it wasn't for the Hossa no-goal they would have been golfing already. Lucky for them SoCal has some of the nicest golf courses in the country.

I saw that too. What the Ducks did last night was completely embarassing for any sports league. These men are supposed to be "professionals" and yet they acted like animals. Their captain completely elbowed Datsyuk with intent to injure, and this is supposed to be their leader? You are completely right about Colorado. I respected them somewhat in spite of my hate for them. The Ducks I completely cannot respect and never will. They are dirty thugs and their antics have no place in hockey. Any hockey announcer that comments this type of behavior is also embarassing. It shows exactly how much he knows about hockey and about class and sportsmanship also.

I love the street fight comment. No s*** the Wings are winning because they are playing hockey. I seriously doubt any team can beat the Red Wings we know four times by simply playing hockey the whole time. (Sucker punches, head hunting, and tacking Ozzie is not part of hockey btw)

More importantly, who will the forwards be in game 6? No one was playing forward yesterday?

How about getting even half the shots on goal that the Wings did next time. Is it ever possible that the Ducks lost due to the fact that they played like crap and allowed 10 goals in the last 2 games? And as far as the league wanting the Wings to win, that is complete bs. In game 3 not only did they take away a perfectly good goal but also did not call goalie interference when Ozzie was tackled in the crease. If that game was called fairly, the score would have been 2-1 Wings in spite of playing like crap, and the Ducks would have been golfing already. Or in game 2 when the Wings went for most of the game without having a power play? I find it hard to believe that the Ducks were perfect angels and committed no penalties until the end of the game. The entire organization is pond scum, from management, to coaching, to players, all the way down to the fans. Their leaders go into fake retirement or get suspended 8 times in a career for stomping on peoples' legs and trying to elbow peoples' heads through the glass. Our leaders do their trash talking on the scoreboard. Let them whine.

Hopefully someone nets a free roast beef sandwich. I'm getting hungry.
