I just find it ironic that BJ fans bitched about how throwing things (aka octopi) on their ice was disrespectful and classless...yet they threw beer cans on their own ice. Way to go guys.

Why should the attempted thrower go to jail? I understand that it is against arena rules to throw anything onto the ice, but it is not illegal and does not threaten anybody's safety. Kicked out and banned from the arena maybe...but jail for attempting to throw something, especially when it wasn't even directed toward anyone? Octopus throwing and assault are not on the same level.

If San Jose wins, then don't we get Vancouver? Chicago and Calgary are not options for the next round.

This was a very unclassy move. I understand that throwing things onto the ice is against the rules in any arena (even at the Joe technically). But this does not give anyone the right to start beating the crap out of people who do it. Nationwide Arena has plenty of security guards employed who can escort octopi throwers out of the arena. There is no need for violence.

Here's whats really happening. The NHL is not marketing the Pens because the Pens are more marketable. They are marketing the Pens because they are making them more marketable. Who says that Euro hockey is boring? The NHL and media are telling us that we want to see more physical play as opposed to dazzling skill. Both are equally exciting but the media is telling us that one is better. Who says we would rather see young talent than veteran leadership on the ice? And who says the Pens are the only one with young guys on their team? They are telling us that Crosby is a superstar. They made him the celebrity. And I mean what fan doesn't love a good fight? But Crosby doesn't exactly drop the gloves every game. The NHL made Crosby and his Canadian friends look tough. So the Pens aren't naturally "more marketable" than any other team. The NHL and media are telling us that the Pens are what we want to see, thus making them more marketable.

So when Homer gets cross checked then we shouldn't get mad about it because it's part of the game? I didn't realize there was a different rule book for players around the net.

Maybe we underestimated the Ducks. Maybe they are last year's Dallas (doing our dirty work for us in the playoffs till we eliminate them). Either way, let's hope for a game 7 (or at least a game 5...). I think the Ducks can definately win the series, but don't count out the Sharks. And if the Sharks do end up winning this series after being down 2-0 at home, you know they will come out fired up and that will make them even more scary.
