Pavel does lead by example by playing consistently every night. But he does not have the commanding presence that Z or Lidstrom have or that Yzerman had. Not that they are bossy or commanding but they have this presence that demands respect. Dats is really funny and kinda weird and goofy so I wouldn't take him as seriously.

Just got back from a movie for class. And I'm glad I had to miss this one. My dad got us tickets for game 1 of the second round. But with the way we've been playing for the last two weeks I'm not 100% certain we will attend that game.

What frustrates me even more is that Fire On Ice was not even used for the playoffs. It was perfect. An oxymoron yet so true. I expected it to go into playoffs and then we get...Are You In? Excellent work Red Wings marketing team. I can tell you used your thinking caps.

I love the Wings. But if they don't start showing up then we can all kiss the second round goodbye. I'm not trying to be a Negative Nancy, but let's just put our homerism aside. When Ozzie was playing poorly at the beginning of the season, I was one of the few who wasn't going to "wait till March" before getting worried. Do all of those people who seriously thought that he and the defense could somehow turn it on for the playoffs still think this? We have 7 games to go and they are showing barely any changes. They Wings look like they're just trying to get by with talent alone, which doesn't seem to be working. I hope Babcock ***** slaps each one of them to wake them up. I will say this again. I am not a fairweather fan. I am not a bandwagoner. I am not a pessimist. I am not a Wings basher. I love the Wings and I am only saying these things because I love them and I care about how they perform. I am still a fan. I do think they can turn this around, but it's not going to be easy. I also think it's really sad that I need a disclaimer like this to avoid getting bashed on these boards.

It's getting to the point where every time there's a penalty, I expect the other team to score a powerplay goal. Is that supposed to happen?

I predict that every player on our team will score exactly two goals. No more. No less. This includes Ozzie and Conklin. No free sanwiches to the hungry citizens of Michigan.

I was 7, almost 8 for that and I remember I was watching the game with my grandma. She was babysitting my brother and me because my parents went to the game. I know I was really young, but I knew what Claude Lemieux did to Draper, although maybe I didn't understand the severity of it at the time. That was the day McCarty became my favorite Red Wing and childhood hero. The next day I immediately asked my mom for a McCarty jersey or shirt. The only one she could find at the store was an adult male large sized t-shirt. I cried and cried until she agreed to buy it anyway. And my mom and I agreed that if I would wear the shirt I had to let her tie it up with a hair tie and that I would wear only pants with it and not shorts. I wore it almost every day for a long time. I still have it to this day and it's still too big and it's still my favorite shirt.

I heard this on the radio today. On the radio they were saying that Luongo said he would take less to be in Detroit. I didn't want to say anything here though because they didn't provide a source.

What does the amount of penalties called have to do with teams getting up to play the Champs?

What's off is that the Red Wings have a higher differential than any other team. The Wings are the only team to have a difference over 30%. Most are in the teens.

33.6% is absurd. I think Bettman needs to see these statistics.

Sparty's Convenience Stores on the MSU campus has tons of them. They have been there for months. It only comes in Creme Soda flavored though which is stupid.

Datsyuk won the Selke. I understand. But Z won the Conn Smythe and in my opinion that's the most important trophy. Datsyuk a s great player and the most skilled on our team. But Z is a leader and a hard worker which proved to be as valuable last postseason. Maybe Dats is better than Z but neither is more valuable to this team.

I agree that Dats is the best forward on the team. But Z is still important too. Remember him killing those 5 on 3's in the finals last year? They are both good at completely different things.

I like this too. No one knows who will be here next year, so everyone up for free agency is going to play their hearts out. This is why Kenny is an amazing gm and I am not. I would have signed Hossa immediately because I tend to not think about my actions.
