I'm actually kind of disappointed in San Jose. They've been my second favorite team for about 3 seasons. I thought they were a genuinely tough team to beat who played physical, but did not resort to cheap shots. I thought they were classier than what I saw tonight.

I agree that McCarty isn't what he used to be, but man it's hard to let go of the past. He was my hero throughout childhood. I would tell my little brother stories of Mac as the superhero defeating bad guys both on and off the ice. I still have a men's large sized McCarty tshirt that I would wear to school every gameday when I was a kid (I got it in 96 or 97 I believe) even though it was a dress on me at the time. I have such great memories of Mac, and that s*** is not easily replaced.

The only problem I have with this is that laughter is not appropriate for a purely evil player, like it is for most players that we hate. Laugher is associated with happiness and entertainment, which makes it a really good idea for players that we love to hate like Crosby or Fedorov or Turco. We make fun of these players because it's fun and entertaining. But what about when the Wings play the Sharks tomorrow and Claude Lemeiux? We don't hate him because it's fun. We hate him because he intentionally put one of our players in pain. I think he's evil. Maybe you guys don't think so but I do. I think it's because I was about 7 when he hurt Draper, and kids are very impressionable and think of things to the extreme. So since my childhood, I have always kind of thought of him as a bad guy in a scary movie. I can't imagine laughing at him because he makes me sick. I couldn't laugh at Pronger either. I don't hate him for fun. I hate him because he's a terrible person.

Well Datsyuk is getting his acting career started with Dr. Rahmani and the new Reebok commercial so who knows? I'm expecting big things from him.

So because some people want to discuss on a Crosby and Ovechkin argument, they are dumb s***s? Who are you to decide intelligence? I'll admit that some people aren't logical in what they post. But just because we comment about Crosby does not automatically make us stupid. Here is why: 1. We have not played in a game since Saturday, and there is no game until Wendesday. Therefore, we have no recent or upcomming game to analyze. There are much fewer things to talk about than if it was the day after or before a game. We can go back to goaltending if you like... 2. The title of this forum is "General Discussion" which means we can talk about anything in general. 3. Just because we like to talk about the other 29 NHL teams does not mean the Red Wings are not our first team. Again, this is for hockey discussion. And compared to anything else that has happened lately, this is the most exciting. 4. And I'm sorry, but who are you to decide the intelligence of the people on this forum? Again, I will say that some people post without logic. But this is a discussion forum, not school or work. Because people make posts that annoy you does not mean that they are dumb or intellecutally inferior to you. You make posts that annoy me, but you are probably still smart. And I know I don't speak for everyone on this, but I have a spectacular gpa at a great universiy, and so far this semester (about half way through) I currently have a 4.0. And guess what? I hate Crosby!!! But I'm still smart.

This thread is about the words that they said about each other afterward. Just like any other two players, if they talk crap about each other off the ice, yeah we wanna hear about it! I love hockey gossip just as much as anyone else. And we don't have another game till Wednesday so what else is there to talk about (besides goaltending right)? And the video clip is there so we can see the context. Some of us would like to see the incident that they are talking about so we can make our own judgement. No one put a gun to your head and forced you to read.

The thing is though, Columbus is the only team in the NHL to have NEVER made the playoffs. I would love to face a team with zero playoff experience in the first round. Or I also wouldn't mind playing Nashville again if they find a way to make it.

What can I say? The Wings piss me off sometimes. Sometimes they make me angry. Once in a while they make me want to cry. Sometiems they make me depressed. Sometimes they make me want to throw something. But more often than not they make me proud.
