I love the Joe because there are no bad seats. You can see pretty well even if you are in the last row. The only thing they need to do is get seats with cup holders, and maybe put a rail down the middle of the stairs because they are way too steep and I have seen many drunk people trip and make me nervous. And maybe new paint would be nice. But I like the Joe.

Please stop. That offended me.

I love a fight as much as the next hockey fan, but the fights need to be legitimate. And by that I mean one-on-one, two grown men consenting to fight, dropping the gloves. Not one guy holding him down while the other punches him in his ass. That is not hockey. Would Crosby have been so tough if his teammate wasn't there to hold down his target for him?

I was at both games this week and I have to say what a difference in this team's effort. I thought after we only lost to the Aves by one goal, the Wings would have more of that "well it was only one goal, no big deal" attitude and get destroyed tonight, but it seems they really changed their attitudes. However, it's only been one game, so let's hope they keep this up. Also, I do like San Jose a lot. They are a really good, clean team. Notice how no one tried to goon it up at the end of the third, like many other teams would do.

I actually did lol

I wish I was old enough to remember it as well as you guys seem to. I was 7 during that game. I do remember the Aves being a source of evil worse than anything I could imagine. And Claude Lemieux was the devil in disguise (not a very good disguise). But I don't remember many of the details of that game besides McCarty fighting Lemieux and becomming my childhood hero. In my eyes it was like Superman vs. Satan.

Jerseys are soooo expensive. If I was going to spend money on one, it better be a team that I actually like, aka Red Wings.

Bridgestone Greatest Captain (Part 2)
Lovin Jiri Fischer replied to Greatness=PavelDatsyuk's topic in General
Okay I know he's not the captain this year, but why is Pronger not on the ballot? But seriously, Lidstrom at least lead his team to the Stanley Cup last year. Sid hasn't done anything captain-like. -
Well that makes everyone on my fantasy team injured.

A lot of our prospects/Griffins would already be playing full time in the NHL on other teams. We have a lot of talent waiting to play for the Wings, so I think we will be dominant for a while. Look at th 90's. Almost everyone from our 97 and 98 Stanley Cups are gone. A lot of our 02 winners aren't with the Wings either anymore. Yzerman, Shannahan, Russian 5, Vernon, etc. We haven't lost it since that roster left.

I'm going to KILL my boyfriend. He's so in love with Conklin that he always calls me during the game to tell me "I hope Conklin gets a shutout tonight!" I just got off ther phone with him.
-
I actually like them. They are simple and clean.
-
Yeah please he's on my fantasy team.

Question, will the Wings be killing off one or two 5 on 3's this period now that they are up 3-0?
-
Was it correct what they just said? 24 penalty minutes in the First period alone. That's basically an entire period with no 5 on 5. Let the boys play.
-
Woooow, that was close

Good one Lilja

I'm confused...there's 5 Wings out there but it's a 5 on 3

Mac's been on a rampage lately, but fighting is exactly what made him my childhood hero, so it's all good.

What if major league sports operated like a little mini government? There are 30 teams in the NHL, and their owners should each get to vote on what goes on. Such as the comissioner needs to be elected every few years. And the votes could be weighted like the electoral college, where the owners who have been around longer or whose team brings the nhl the most profit (from jersey sales, tickets, etc.) should have their votes worth a little more. The refs should be certified and also elected by the owners. This way, the comissioner and referees need to be on their best behavior constantly and not be assholes and actually know what they're doing or else they risk not being reelected. Just a thought.

"We're going to help out the team that's behind by giving them powerplays and penalizing the harder-working, more skilled teams once they get ahead." Sounds kinda like Marxism/Redistribution of Wealth of hockey.

11/14 GDT: Red Wings 3, Florida Panthers 2

Awesome. not -
I miss Dom a lot. I know that he is fragile and would go more and more downhill every year, but he was the s***. What other goalie played like him? Take the Gaborik hit for example.
