    Chelios, Downey, McCarty, and Quincey

QUincey has to stay in Detroit, he is out of options. If he is sent down he is exposed to waivers, which he would be picked up quickly

Shanahan looking to return next season

Im surprised that teams on the verge haven't contacted Shannys agent, guy still has that vet leadership and could help someone on a power play. Sorta figured the Predaturds would maybe bring him in (would be a name, and he would be a leader off the ice) figured the same with the Canucks, and dont forget EVERYONE wants to play for the Leafs.

Question for Duck guy and other teams fans

Brian Burke is an overrated GM, he made a mess and left in Vancouver, now he walked into a gold mine at Anaheim, now its starting to have some problems, and probably next for him will be to run that almost sunken battleship , namely the Toronto Maple Laffs.

What's up with D-Mac and Downey?

Don't get me wrong, Im as glad as anyone that he made it back but......he's not what he once was. Im still disappointed that they didn't get McGratton (PHoenix gave up a 5th I think) Its difficult to let go of the old warriors, especially when they have won in the past.

What's up with D-Mac and Downey?

Every team has a tough guy except for the Wings. Not sure on how many spots are available on the Wings or leaguewide for Downey and I doubt if anyone besides Detroit would have DMac.

    Hossa honest about motives

Adonde was acting like the Pens are still a Cup contender. He was kissing their behinds , saying they are still and up and coming team, blah blah blah.

Which teams could you live without

Im going to vote for Nashville again, because I just took a chewing out from one of their dumb fans. This hick said that the Wings bought Hossa because they were scared of the Predators, I asked him why Nashville didnt buy anyone and he said they didnt need anyone, they dont buy free agents. I guess Dumont, Arnott, Ellis, Gelinas, DeVries, Bonk dont count, I suppose. Dumbest fans in hockey without a doubt. Wings are bad for the sport because they are driving up the Cap to where it was before. Sometimes comments dont deserve a comment in return.

Dan Boyle Traded To San Jose

They also played an already defeated Ottawa team, a Rangers team who couldn't score all season long; and a Flyers team that was without a few top players due to injury. Yeah the Pens got there and tip of the hat to them, but those were series that were basically won before they started, they really didn't break a sweat prior to the Finals. All these newspaper articles bashing Hossa for going to the Wings are pathetic; the Pens media are still making excuses and crying, only thing they haven't done is ask Sid what he thinks this week.

Which teams could you live without

I Lived in the KC area for a year, and this was in the time frame when the Pens were about to get a new arena; or move to KC. It's not a hockey town, for the most part people don't keep up with the sport. It would just be another Nashville situation in the long run, but the Sprint Center is a very nice arena. I was watching a Live Chat on Spectors 2 days ago and one of the writers made a comment that Atlanta and Florida would be moved, didnt say where or when, but lets be frank here.....Would you be surprised? When Kovalchuk leaves Atlanta, there goes their gate draw and attendance falls. They should move Nashville, Atlanta, Florida and Phoenix.

    Wow, Pittsburghers are really ticked

Rob Rossi is all but blaming Hossa's agent for the signing with the Wings. There has to be a reason that many players didn't want to stay.....Malone could have said NO to Tampa, ditto for the rest. I think IMO that Thierren is a big part of it, the guy is nothing more than a babbling idiot, and I think he's a disciplinarian, but not much of a coach.

    The Enforcer Thread

They are speaking of making a D-man move prior to camp; hopefully they use that to get someone who can drop em. I dont see McCarty beating Wisniewski from Chicago, Jared Boll of Columbus, Ott from Dallas, Carcillo/Fedoruk/McGratton from Phoenix. I do think he could handle FooFoo from Nashville, unless FooFoo does his usual drop em / jump em routine .

    Quincey & Ericsson

If Howard and Ericsson are assigned to GR, then their contracts do not count against the cap. Quincey will not be allowed to go through waivers, because they would lose him. They will more than likely make a move before training camp.

    Red Wings to carry enforcer.

Maybe you shouldnt jump to conclusions so quick, did I use your name NO ! But be careful, apparently everyone is out to get you. I never mentioned 90% of what you mentioned above, nor did I hint in that direction. So perhaps you should take your own advice about posting.

    Red Wings to carry enforcer.

When are people going to realize that McCarty is not a heavyweight anymore? He doesn't strike terror in the hearts of opponents anymore. Yes I was glad to see him make it back, but let's be realistic here. Now he would be good for beating the hell out of Tootoo !

    Don't forget Tootoo...

    Ducks

Burke is overrated, he walked into a gold mine at Anaheim, and now it's turning into the same mess he had at Vancouver. Guy makes me sick just to look at him.

    Preds sign Ellis, 2yrs, 3.5m

What's Legwand ever done? Only time he ever plays well is vs the Wings, most of the time after that he's underachieving. Suter isn't much....The Preds passed on Dion Phaneuf to draft this guy.....he's not the worst d-man on his team but he's nothing special. They'll have you think down there how great they draft, but their best players are from the free agent wire, the Wings annually draft lower than these guys, but the Wings seem to keep putting in home grown talent, and less from the free agent line. Someone in another post said they would have Pekka Rinne as the next great thing, and they forgot to add Jeremy Smith who played at Plymouth last season, who in a couple of years might unseat all of those others and be the goalie of the <insert city name> Predators.

    Preds sign Ellis, 2yrs, 3.5m

Blackhawks and Blues wanted him to be a backup, Ottawa was interested as well. With the improvements by the Blackhawks, Phoenix and maybe the Kings, the Predators may be hard pressed to make the playoffs next season.
  21. 2probert4

    Preds sign Ellis, 2yrs, 3.5m

I wouldn't go that far. Poile didnt have a choice but to resign Ellis, if they had not reached an agreement, the few fans they have would say they are cutting costs again and wouldn't renew their season tickets.
  22. 2probert4

    Blues acquire Mason from Preds.

He's not carried the load for an entire season yet.....Guess we'll find out if he can do it.

Mickey Redmond and a Penguins Fan

Ive seen that guy wearing a Tootoo jersey before. He was sitting next to Weber and Crisp in the Predaturd press box.

Chelios to Re-Sign for 08/09 Season

be careful, you'll get ripped for saying Kopecky should play.

Chelios to Re-Sign for 08/09 Season

Thats why Babcock was ready to include him on the Wings roster 2 seasons ago, and the only thing that kept him off of there was the number of vets already on the team. Same goes for Ericsson and Quincey. Kindl had a bad season at GR yes, but being with Lidstrom, Chelios and friends every day was part of the plan for those guys.
