During the Preds Wings series a few years back, people were yelling Pretenders at the few Pred fans that were in attendance.

Wings also arent having to play the Predators in Nashville after playing a game the night before, and flying to Nashville overnight. Most of the Predator home games are situations like that.

Bravo Downey doesn't hurt us when he's on the ice. He has played within his role, and he worked hard enough that they couldn't send him down. Injuries allowed him time to prove himself to Babcock and the Wings, which he has done well. I would prefer Downey right now over D Mac.

Yes you are correct, Nashville starts with the rough stuff if they get down in a game. The last visit to Nashville was a good example, with Hamhuis trying to rough it up with Zetterberg. It's those "Carpetbaggers" who are helping to keep that team afloat. It's not as much Red in the building as it once was, but there are still a good number of Wing fans that show up at the Sommet Center when Detroit comes to town. Detroit has played in front of more sellouts at the GEC / Sommet Center than any visiting team. The roar was pretty darn loud when Chelios scored during the last visit.

Miller is one of the better tenders in the league, it wouldn't be as if the Wings had Cloutier in net if he came here. There are better goalies but there are worse.

Im not anti Howard, but I want a goalie who is dependable and can steal the occasional game. Be it Howard, Miller, Old Mother Hubbard, whomever. There will have to be a replacement somehow somewhere. Just need to get it in place NOW.

7 mill + per season will be very difficult to move. They can't pick up part of the tab in this collective bargaining agreement, but Brian Burke is wanting to change that.

If Howard stays with the Wings next season, he will get more than a game here and there. They will make a major decision concerning the direction of the goaltending within the organization. There is another goalie over in Sweden Djurgarden named Daniel Larsson who they have high hopes for, Howard wasn't thought of as highly as people in this site have made him out to be. Wouldn't bother me if the kid took over and all that, but if a quality young tender is available from elsewhere, you have to weigh the options. Let him play or let him go......

He played well for them this season when he wasnt injured. He's not that old, considering our goalie is 41 or 42. They have tried shopping Khabby and no takers because of the salary.

Kings have 2 very good young goalies in their system...Chicago has Khabibulin.... If Buffalo said Howard and another player, you can bet that the Wings will think about it.....

I think there were issues when CuJo was in Detroit and for whatever reasons Holland brought Hasek back. I know at one point Hasek was not allowed in the locker room, apparantly he had been injured and was stirring up crap in the locker room. CuJo got that shaft in that situation.

They are showing a couple of the Wings series and if they say it will be Wings in 5 or something, it may affect the ratings or something in their minds....

McGuire (for those who don't know) is from TSN, based in Toronto, which hates Detroit. Take what he says with a grain of salt. Most TV guys like to predict the big upset so they can crow about it down the road, regardless of the situation may be. If the Leafs were in, they would predict them to win it all.

I know Count Trotzula has kept the leash on him, but he still picks his spots. He has cost you guys in the past series with SJ with some bad penalties. Hordichuk has been around long enough to know when its a good time to throw down. If someone takes liberties with his teammates though, he gets the green light , so does 22.

Here you go with the "They disagree with Legionaire so they are ignorant" stuff. Ev is fun to read also, I remember him from the Hockey Chat on Yahoo, he's alot of laughs. Fighting in the playoffs doesn't happen often, and if im correct, there were no fighting majors in the 8 games the Wings and Predators played against each other this season.

Tootoo only fights people he thinks he can beat. This "Tootoo fights anyone" is crap. Downey has tried 3 times to get him to dance, with Tootoo having nothing to do with it. Ive seen Brashear tap the back of his legs with the stick (yeah thats a mismatch) but Tootoo said no. Bernier from Buffalo tried to get him to go, no dice. I've seen Jody Shelley try his luck at it, same thing. But he is not a heavyweight and shouldn't be fighting those guys unless he wants pounded. I think Downey and Tootoo would be a good fight.

Brashear backed down to Hordichuk twice during that Preds - Caps game. Shelley wouldn't go with him a few days prior to that, Hordichuk is very tough, not many people going with him these days.
