Add Hartnell and Radulov to that list....

I remember Danny Gare... When I was in college, I lived near Nashville, no NHL team there at the time, just the ECHL Nashville Knights. Twice a year I would drive to Detroit for a game....
-
None of those guys cross check people in the chest and then drop their mitts. I don't think you hear the things about their styles of play that you do about Tootoo.
-
I will be in attendance at that game. Secured my ticket this morning.

Pronger is a good player, hes one of the Top 3 defenseman in the world, and makes a difference each time he steps on the ice, and yes he does get dirty and yes hes one of the most hated players in hockey. Big difference between a former MVP and Norris winner, and a hack who probably won't last another 5 years in the NHL.

Instigator can be any type of action, such as a verbal challenge, shove or bump...its a judgement call by the linesman. Tootoo was paired with Kariya during each season Kariya was with Nashville, some times longer than others, they have this vision of Tootoo being a great all around player, which he will never be. (willie dunnic will argue that with you for hours) As for the Adam Foote thing, Tootoo had been taking liberties with Nash and Zherdev earlier and when Foote asked him to dance, Tootoo decided that Foote could win so he declined, Foote didn't care and pummelled him. As for the Carcillo incident, Hordichuk took care of that one. For every example that you list above, we can find 2 things that Tootoo has done.

Their fans don't dictate how Tootoo plays, it's all on him. Section 303 is a group of idiots who have used the same junior high cheers for 10 years now. The Predators could be losing 10-0 and they would still say the opposing goalie sucks......There are fans of every team who attend games to see a fight, its not just those people. Those whistles are stupid, and I have heard Predator fans in the Sommet Center say that, and it was everyone around where I was sitting. Many of their fans are starting to recognize that Tootoo's antics do cost them at times, especially in the playoff series vs San Jose.

I do watch them often, and not all of Tootoo's hits are cheap. Most of them are borderline because he leaves his feet often when he's throwing the elbow, which is a no-no. More often than not, his fights aren't an even start, its cross check, drop em and swing. They had told him to pick his spots, but as of late he is back to his old ways. They have tried more than once to jumpstart his offense by pairing him with the top 2 lines, and it's not worked well at all. If the guy can't at least get some assists with Kariya on his line..... Or Legwand and Radulov........nuff said. He is on the way to becoming another Avery. Well at least Avery scores..

He will never be more than what he is... no offensive skills, not a good shut down player, no desire to work on his game, just the stupid cheap shot crap. He'll get his someday...

Ericsson was playing RW on the PP in GR - similar to what Boston was doing with Chara.. A big body in front of the crease.
-
he's just keeping it simple....the speed at the NHL level is much faster than at the AHL level of course. He tends to throw his weight around a little more there. He will do the same in Detroit eventually.
-
He played close to 20 minutes last night......Avs still didn't sell the game out though.

The way that the Nucks are playing, you may get your wish.

Lidstrom practices (and other notes from practice)

I thought it was because they didn't get Fedorov...... -
The Illitch's would have never allowed for that to happen. That for the most part was another head game by Scotty Bowman.
-
When you said TSN, that explains it all, they still act as if the kids in the NCAA hockey system are all subpar to the players in the Canadian Juniors, which for the most part is true. They still snub their noses at American Hockey though.

I dont "like" Roy and Forsberg, but I do acknowledge the fact that both were premier players in the NHL, and Roy had a Hall of Fame career and is one of top goalies of all time. Forsberg had those moments but injuries kept us from seeing him dominate for as long as people would think.
-
Bertuzzi went for Trevor Linden, and Chara was part of the return when the Isles got Yashin. Pretty good for a "crap" player as you say.
-
I was under the impression that Roth was still at Notre Dame....not in the Caps system.
-
He can't score, he can only try to keep the other team from scoring. I would take him on the Wings in a second. Anyone who wouldn't doesn't watch him much.
-
There are some Penguin fans who believe that Sergei Gonchar will win it if he passes Lidstrom in scoring. Gonchar should never win a Norris, his defense is as bad as his slapshot is good.
-
I think Meech has passed Lebda on the depth chart.
-
Lehtonen -- Atlanta wants too much, Lehtonen is injury prone and inconsistent. Vokoun - getting up there in age, would demand more than he's worth. If Miller is there, I think they go for him

At least you didn't post all that stuff about Osgood being as good as Roy and Belfour. Luongo was on some crap teams Ev, where he didn't have much help, and seen more rubber than a hooker at a truck stop.
