Lebda has been a regular for a while now; I think this was make or break for his career with the Wings. He may replace Meech in the press box each night when everyone gets back from injury.

Burke walked in and took advantage of the castle that Bryan Murray built. He's an idiot and as with Vancouver, the team will start realizing what a tool he is and he'll have to go elsewhere.

The Canuck games are a sign of social status in Vancouver, most of the people are there to be seen, and don't know much about the sport. It's similar to the Joe, where the lower bowl is corporate seats, used to entertain clients, etc. They also think Edler is on par with Lidstrom for some ignorant reason. Poor Luongo must be thinking that this is just like Florida, a team that is a border line playoff team at best.

The Nucks are Luongo and the Sedin twins and a group of grinders. 2 of the goals were from the defenseman fumbling pucks, to be honest the Nucks are in worse shape than the Wings when it comes to scoring. They are cap challenged and don't have much to give in return to get some scoring.

They've lost 10 straight now, and have lost Gagne for the season, and Richards for at least 3 weeks. You'll be seeing the Philly Phantoms there, like you are seeing the Grand Rapids boys here.

For playing with 5 defenseman and most of them not playing together much or not at all, they did well IMO.

Babcock also said that the speed of the AHL is slower than what he would see in the NHL. McCarty still isnt really in shape yet, and 1 or 2 games won't get him a speedy promotion. They may sign him, but he'll still be there for a while and will be subject to evaluation before being called up.

I have no way of proving this, but would it surprise you if Burke got invloved in trade talks just to up the price for a possible playoff rival ???

Dombrowski also has no limit to spend, the supposed cap in MLB is a joke. They just pay a Luxury Tax penalty. Not taking away anything from what the Tigers have achieved by any means.

Ericsson was a forward prior to being switched to being a defenseman, so he can handle the puck. He hit the 100mph mark with his slapshot He has some toughness, and did for a time play RW on the PP, lining up near the crease as does Zdeno Chara in Boston. That fight clip against # 24 of the Blackhawks must have been prior to Martin Havlat coming to Chicago, who happens to wear # 24. He has been held in high regard for a few seasons, im glad hes finally up with the Wings.

But nobody knows what is being offered , and all these packages that people speculate with are just that... speculation. Samuelsson isn't worth much anymore. Might be safe to say we're stuck with him. If someone took him, anyone remember on the Bugs Bunny cartoons when the character would turn into a big lollipop with the word SUCKER written on it????
