They still have some secondary scoring issues to address, I agree that winning the West is not a given. The past few years the 8 seed has given the Wings fits as we all know.
-
I wouldnt be surprised if the teams they "rejected" had told them that the supposed salary demands were too high, then taking on the scorned child attitude, they said 'We dont want to play for you"
-
Doesnt matter whom he plays for, he'll get injured again.....Is this a surprise to anyone ??
-
why would Holland want 2 washed up bums like Niinima and Anson Carter ?
-
Someone would be after Dan if he left UFA, but where he ended up would be the question. Nashville is going to have to spend some money , and remember ALL players want to go to Toronto.
-
the way that Ovechkin has been scoring, he may run off with the Rocket Richard and Art Ross. Kid is incredible.
-
Well......maybe on XBOX, cause I traded Lilja and some made-up minor leaguer for Jack Johnson Seriously, the Habs are going to make some moves and Ryder may be sent packing. I'm sure they would want a prospect and draft pick, not sure if they would want Sammy or not. Filppula im sure many teams will want if the Wings come calling. I did hear somewhere that Holland has asked about Brad Stuart. BTW, Gainey was given permission to speak to Hossa's agent earlier today.

Is that something you dreamed up? No spite emotion included in that statement.

Datsyuk for Selke and a 1st rounder (E5)
-
Patrick Sharp's deal is what Cleary's agent will look at. Wings won't give Cleary 4 mill per season, which is the neighborhood that Sharp has moved into. Would like to see him stay, but this is like when Marty LaPointe left, he took the big payday, and I wouldn't blame Cleary if he accepted some overpaid offer.
-
It was mentioned on Home Ice today (XM Radio) but there were no teams mentioned, just one of those 'If they can't sign Cleary, will they deal him?"
-
He's a good fit on that station; it's one of the places he actually knows more than the guy interviewing him.
-
I doubt if that would even go through on XBOX.
-
Exactly....Im not sure who they would consider moving to allow Mac to be called up anyways.
-
Rafalski is under contract for a while, so no need to worry there.
-
I don't know why where you live has to do with tv coverage, I have the Center Ice package and I see the opponents feeds as well. The main thing I hear about Dats is "Guy's got the puck on a string" I hear it from Zetterburg moreso than Datsyuk. I agree with you that he should be a contender, guy has come a long way with his defense.
-
Not taking anything away from Dats, but you don't hear many people outside of here saying he's the Selke candidate, which his defensive play has improved very much this season. When the Wings are playing you hear the announcers speaking of Zetterberg being as good defensively as he is with the puck, that may influence some writers in their votes......On the other hand, there may be split votes between Dats and Z and neither could win it.
-
Theres lots of manlove for McCarty and Fedorov from a couple of the people on here, but it's time to get past those two players and move on. Neither will be what they once were. Age does that to humanoids.

If Feds doesn't put up numbers with the likes of Rick Nash on his line, what makes anyone think he would do it in Detroit with Filppula and Hudler and or Cleary with him ? Guy has had groin problems off and on all season, he was a great player for the Wings back in the day, but he's seen better days. Hitchcock may offer to pay someone to take him.
-
He's got a concussion right now, he was still having headaches when he rode the stationary bike. I dont think its hatred for Feds on this forum, but I think some of the other opinions are easy to figure out.

There's talk out of LA that Blake has a undisclosed fracture around his ankle. If this was posted elsewhere, I apologize.

USHL and the NCAA have produced some fine young players as of late, but as with the World Juniors it gets into a depth thing, which the CHL would have. CHL would win that series if they ever had one.

I posted in another thread that I heard 1.75 for this season, and 3 to 3.5 for next year. Home Ice on XM Radio was the source.
