    Trade Deadline Thread

Forsberg is wanting 1.75 mill for this season and around 3 to 3.5 mill for a second year. Heard that yesterday on Home Ice on XM Radio. No it wasnt from Eklund either

    division switch

better be careful, the self-proclaimed Pred expert will appear, and tell you how you are WRONG

    Antropov suspended

Im hoping that Sammy for Antropov comment was tongue in cheek. Toronto is the same way though, they think their lesser players can be sufficient in a deal for a stud. Remember the Antropov for Zetterberg rumors a couple of years back

    Phaneuf re-signs: 6-years, $39m

Ev, Suter getting what you say wouldn't surprise me, but to be realistic he's not worth that much.

    J.P. Dumont

Sharp was overpaid no doubt. Now that Phaneuf has resigned, wait and see what the new salary levels of defenseman are going to be.

    Antropov suspended

This guy will be on the rumor list to the Wings before its said and done.

Teams normally dont trade within their division; especially with a team that they percieve as a hated rival. With the attendance issues they have this was a no-brainer. They don't bring the guy back after a career season it tells people "They aren't trying to win"

    J.P. Dumont

He'll get 4 mill per in todays market no doubt, salaries are going back up to where they were prior to the lockout.

    Jordin Tootoo

After that deal he received in Nashville, it's a dead topic now.

    Jordin Tootoo

Nashville considers anyone who hits any of their players "Dirty" But it's ok if Tootoo sucker punches people , to them "thats hockey" a couple of Tootoo's ex teammates (now in Philly) have commented that his style of play will cost him and the leaving the feet on his big checks was one of the first things brought up. His skills aren't that great, he shows no discipline in his game, nor does he work hard on improving it. When they put him with Kariya and he didn't get points, you know that there is little offensive skill. Between the lack of skill and the wear and tear he puts on his body with the style of play, I don't see him lasting another 5 years consistantly on an NHL roster.

    Jordin Tootoo

Does he fight....yes Is he someone who would be considered a heavyweight ......NO He wouldn't get the minutes in Detroit that he gets in Nashville. They have tried for a few years to get his scoring up, pairing him with Kariya, Sullivan to name a few, 7 goals are his career high. He would be a favorite in most towns with his fighting, but he's known for leaving his feet when checking players, many of his hits are borderline dirty. The way he throws his body around it's a matter of time before he starts getting the nagging injuries all the time. Not sure why this thread was started, he's staying in Bubbaville.

Could Yzerman be the next Leaf's GM?

Rule of Thumb.....99.9% of hockey rumors that involve the Leafs, Leafs TV, Al Strachan, and the rest of the Toronto media are not to be believed until they actually happen. The Leafs think all players / coaches want to just drop their career and come there, even if they are in Cup winning organizations.

LGWers take in Wings' practice in SoCal

When the Wings play the Predators, the hotel they stay in is next door to the arena and you can catch the players crossing the street and get to talk to them or get an autograph.

Zetterberg's Back Has Flared Up Again

Atlanta has not fallen out of the playoff chase, who's to say that they will deal him ?

    Ken Daniels

    amen to that.

    Ken Daniels

Who is the bald dude in their booth? He seems to know everything about the obvious. Did he ever play hockey?

Possible Deals for Cleary, Lilja on the way

Quincey could play now, he did fine during the playoffs last year in Schneiders absence. Ericsson is close. Griffs had been playing him at RW in a Homer type role on their PP.

    Samuelsson does not fit in

Nice to see youve kept those red glasses Ev.....
  22. 2probert4

I love the guy, but I gotta admit - Im still surprised.

I would take Vinny on my team in a second.....Are you sure youre not thinking of Marty St Louis as the cherry picker? Vinny does center him..........

    Same talk, new rumor article

I think Anaheim's core beats ours. After Lidstrom, Rafalski, Kronwall, ours drops off somewhat. Chelios is consistant, but do you depend on him to play 20 minutes a night in the playoffs ? He is a physical freak of nature, but can he play at a consistant level during the playoff grind? They will need to add someone that will have that physical style, we have enough of the finesse type.

    Same talk, new rumor article

Blake was known for big hits, but in Colorado he was prone to getting out of position when attempting them. Adam Foote saved his bacon many times during his stint with the Crapalanche. He had / has a booming shot from the point , was a Norris candidate for many years. Shell of his former self now, will be overpriced at the deadline. Has been quoted as saying he will return to LA to end his career.
