Ev, Ryder is still a much better player than Sammy, so lets not pretend that he's not. There are factors up there such as Ryder may want out, he may be pouting , but his talent is still far better than Sammy. But I still don't see the Wings adding Ryder for many reasons.

Montreal would not want Sammy, they would want one of our young players or a prospect. People need to quit thinking like the Leafs media and figure out that teams aren't going to accept a lesser player (Sammy) for a better one (Ryder) just because the fans and media are fed up with a certain player.

Wings passing was horrible, they weren't playing their defense with the intensity they had the other night in st louis, just didn't seem like their heads were in it. Usually that puck cycling down low doesn't work, they just didn't play like they were ready, and for all these lower tier teams they get their A game going vs the Wings. The Lidstrom hit by Mayers was legit, but you don't let that stuff go by. Can't have people taking runs at him like that. Girardi and Staal yes fine young defenseman, lots of potential, playing well so far... Rangers have been actively shopping for a physical stay at home defenseman (Adam Foote has been the rumored target as of late) Prucha was said to be part of what they are offering in a package. Rangers spent a large amount of money again for stars (they did this pre salary cap for years - didnt work except for a couple of seasons) and so far it's not meshed well. Jagr is being a baby now that Nylander is gone, best thing for them would be to deal him away - but who would take his salary?

You people seem to forget that D Mac was a big time party boy, in Detroit and in Calgary. That takes its toll on the body. As for Fedorov, not sure if they want to bring in a personality like that into their locker room. Teams hardly trade within their division at the deadline, and when Kenny Holland comes calling the price goes up. If they only gave up a 3rd or 4th rounder for Feds (wishful thinking) then sure.... What cracked me up last week in St Louis was when they said the Blues won last years season series vs the Wings. But their fans aren't as bad as other cities within the same division. By the way its not Divealanche , its CRAPalanche.

I went to a game in Peoria the same season, and some kid had a sign "TICKETS: $25.00 , SNACKS: 12.50, TOOTOO IN THE BOX....PRICELESS" Tootoo started firing pucks at the glass in front of where the kid was sitting and the rest of the Admirals started following suit. Upshall, Weber, and Brian Finley were saying stuff as they would skate by. Hilarious stuff !

I watched the replay on the Hockeyfights site, Tootoo lost that one. Nice takedown of Foote at the end. Tootoo's ex girl Kelly Pickler was in the crowd and im sure she enjoyed seeing him get beat up.

I think they will go after a defenseman, but if Eriksson and Quincey keep throwing their weight around down at GR, we might see those guys in Red. Having room to make a deal is good, but it has to be the right deal. Flip is scoring now yes, but it's with Datsyuk centering him and that gives Flip room to score. We'll have to reserve judgement on getting a scorer until down the road.
