Anson Carter is overpaid and doesn't play up to his size. That guy cleaned up garbage goals from the Sedin sisters for one season and the guy wanted 4 mill per season. I hope they dont waste their time on him.
-
He has some props waiting for Gary Bettman after reading that email remark the other day
-
He would be a nice fit in Detroit, but Phoenix would want the moon and stars for him, especially when Holland is inquiring. Im sure they would want a combo of the following... Dats Zetts Filppula Kindl high draft picks, probably multiple.
-
He also is known for leaving his feet when delivering a check... im not sure how he is a great story , unless youre bringing up his being the first of his ethnic background to get into the NHL. He should be evaluated on his level of play, not his skin color or whatever. He will have to develop somewhat of an offensive game if he wants to remain a full time NHL player, he's been given chances to do so over the past couple of years, even had time with Kariya on a line for a while. His style of reckless abandon and always going for big hits type play will eventually take its toll on his shoulders and knees, unless he starts picking his moments... I agree with you about Nichol, not sure what their attraction is to that player. Tootoo is hated around the league much more than Nichol, I would say that Tootoo is close to Pronger and Chelios when it comes to being hated league wide. What does Downey have to do with this ? Boulerice is worthless.

Scotch on the rocks is your answer to that one.

Someone told me it was really Anson Carter
-
He's good to have on NHL08, guy hits like a bulldozer. He will have to start working on his offensive game if he wants to stay in the NHL.

youre right, its gone past hockey talk.......now it's "I know, you no dont I do, no you dont I do" so whatever. He wants to talk nonsense about me or whomever disagrees with him, his choice. Not really sure why the Predators take up so much bandwidth on a Red Wings site, especially their money issues. I didn't come to this site for a month or so, and had lots of unread posts. So I came across one where you were asking for support on your diet, and something about building or repairing a barn as part of your exercise routine was in it.
-
Im glad you explained that, I never had a clue to what that meant when I would read it in the paper , thanks man

Lang is in a situation now where he's the man, and he gets the ice time that he wasn't getting with the Wings. Im sure he will play harder just to stick it to Babcock. Just for that, your hamster will be sent down to the ECHL.

Where in the World is Carm...I mean Darren McCarty
2probert4 replied to wingsrock34's topic in General
Someone else may have posted this, but .... I read on Spector's Hockey.com that McCarty was waiting for an offer. -
Its not a personal insult, he said that he was fixing up a barn. Thats hard work, been there done that. He said that back a couple of months ago, not sure how thats made out to be a personal insult.

I remember once you said you didnt have seats. Ummm the Sports Authority works with the Predators, and you basically said you have the same types of contacts that I have, nice try. Sports Authority has been the group that exposed Leopolds lies more than once. There are people who dont like them, but truth hurts eh ? Hows the barn building going ? Ahh I see the Sports Authority is involved again in the latest Predators offer, great move for a group that you declared as unknowing. Preds office is known for lying, so please stop with that one, its ridiculous. It was a nice conversation while I was involved, youre the one that started with the attitude. Nice try once again. If you knew people in that office, you would have spewed it long ago. As for the idiocy comment, look at how your home crowd acts towards the visiting team fans before talking about others.

Thanks for resorting to the personal bashing when you get backed into a corner. Ive also been watching hockey longer than youve been born dude (Im 41 now, ive got a good head start on you) and theres many on here that know more than I do, so stop acting like youre the ultimate authority. I also spent alot of money watching that team when I was a resident, I still have my seat available if I move back to Nashville, my friends split the cost and do whatever they choose with that seat. Are you even a partial season ticket holder ? You have your opinions and theories, youre entitled to them, but when people tell you that youre incorrect, or what they are told , this is what you do, with the personal bash. Ive told you more than once that I do have some friends in that Metro Sports Authority, I asked you if you knew what it was, apparently not. For example, they received the letter from Balsillie today about wanting to be involved in the team ownership. They are involved with money aspects that concern the city, as in how much money is spent on arena costs, upkeeps for the Titans stadium etc. But those people are in the know about many of the items concerning attendance, the selling of the team, who the prospective buyers were, etc. You just talk in circles dude, first its saying how the Tennessean spews incorrect information, but then you spew numbers. If youre not quoting the paper, then where do you get your info ? I would like to see ...I tell you where I get mine, from my pals that are season ticket holders, and the contacts I still have in that town, (refer back to the sports authority) which I touch base with about once a week. Telling me I dont know anything because I dont live there any longer (I may be coming back at the beginning of the year) is just silly. I also had a former boss there who had a significant other in the front office, so I heard stuff, regardless if I wanted to hear it or not. As for your quote about not linking conversations between this site and the Preds, there was a debate ( you and GS&T) about Tootoo punching Lapierriere in the face not long ago, and you did the link to the Preds site and there was some remark about someone comparing it to Robidas and I think there was something about someone being stupid. I do stand by my remark earlier that I believe that you like to argue. Hows the barn building going by the way?
-
There is one out there of Downey from last season in Montreal, and he fights Chris Neil of the Senators, its a good one to see. Downey and Neil both land heavy shots. Nichol was dropped quickly......Tootoo was seeing birdies flying around his head. Been a bad couple of games for Tootoo, he was beat on in the Dallas game and then took the clothesline last night.
-
He's not telling you anything that you couldn't find in the paper, which he has said on numerous occasions, along with a couple of others, is a puppet of the team, and you have to question how valid that is. The Predators management has been caught lying about attendance and loss of income info in the past using their puppet. He posts these debates on the Predators board, and gets props for arguing with the Red Wings fans. Thats not a personal bash on the guy, its just what goes down. This is a dead issue, time will tell if they survive or not......be it in Nashville or elsewhere.

You preach all these numbers but they barely got their 14000? I think youre counting the people who buy the 3 or 6 game packs as season ticket holders..... You act as if you work in the front office or something,do you even know what the Nashville Sports Authority group is, and what its all about ? I mean I think they would know whats going on, and as you say, you cant believe the media. Sometimes I wonder if youre just bored and like to argue......But im glad that you took your RED WINGS SUCK out of your sig on the Preds page. Sonnet Center holds over 17000 for hockey. Most of the original fanbase are people who relocated to Nashville from other places, and as for 104.5, last time I was in, The Titans signed a free agent, and that made more news than the Predators being in the run for the playoffs.... The guys on the show said that it was football country, not hockey country . Red Wings at 86% are 86% of over 19000, which is still more than most teams, including the Pretenders. But most of his points are what he reads in the Nashville City Paper and Tennessean, and the Pretenders site.

Four games, four bad pinches, four goals against for Lilja
2probert4 replied to 40#1Fan's topic in General
he did knock the crap out of Conroy when he had his head down, was a nice hit -
where did you find that fine looking specimen in your avatar ?
-
I think he's just looking to see if other players can mesh with Dats or Zetts because when the Wings go out looking to obtain someone in a deal , the price goes up.

....People in Detroit arent the only ones saying hockey wont work in Nashville, its the entire NHL, and the majority (99.9%)of the media people around the league that cover this sport, please dont make this into a Detroit hates Nashville thing again, face it, youre not above water yet. The figures that you just posted don't match what I was told earlier. As for not asking for tax money, why did they ask the city for 4 million more dollars, which one way or another would involve taxes ? What the Predators front office is saying and what's really been sold are different, and its not like the Preds office hasnt lied before about numbers, just to get more of that revenue sharing money. Its not a rip on you, but even youve said you cant believe whats in the press.... 19K ticket holders, thats a laugh. But im assuming you read that in a press release eh ? But as you say, can't believe everything you read in the press. Most of the people in Nashville in the 80's had never seen a hockey game.... Unless you want to count that ECHL team they used to carry, the South Stars , Knights and whatever else they were called.

My number came from an estimate from your Nashville Sports Authority group. Maybe your circle loves the sport, but not many more than that care about an NHL team, especially now that they are threatening to move unless the city coughs up more money, and they gutted the roster somewhat, and they have some impact players that will deserve a substantial raise on the FA horizon. If they dont try to keep some of those guys, people will get ticked and say forget it. Boots will end up being the primary owner down the line, dont kid yourself. Those other guys in that group will jump ship eventually , some of that group have acknowledged that it's not the best hope to make any money, which was what Leopold was in this to do, make money. The local banks agreed also, that was why there were so many owners involved, they had difficulty getting the money to pay Leopold. Also remember this....Detroit 17K and change sells out many arenas around the league, but Illitch will have to address ticket prices, with the economy being down , and with the other local teams in Detroit doing well (Tigers and Pistons) Lions sell out regardless of their play. Titans suck up more money in Nashville than you think, keep that in mind .....
-
Theres about 15000 in that area that actually care about the Predators, most people would have preferred the NBA or MLB over hockey to be honest. Im sure Legionairre will dispute this, but that city for the most part could care less. The upper level ticket prices in Nashville are what separates them from other teams, Im not sure what they raised the lower levels to, I know that you could get a glass seat for around 90 - 100 USD when I was there. Only reason there is a fight for them to stay has nothing to do with the love of hockey, but the economic impact losing those game night dollars spent on meals, parking, etc etc.

John Glennon, like the guys on 104.5, are puppets of the Predators .....Willie Dunnic especially.. Guy tried arguing with me during the teams first season that Yzerman was signed as a free agent, that he played for the Nucks prior to being a Wing...haha The Titans hold the city hostage on money more than the Predators ever have, but the NFL rules in that town. Ive lived there for a few years, its a nice city. Cost of living is reasonable, lots to do around the town, lots of places to eat, and lots of music types to choose from, not just a country music city. Night life is good, and you can walk around the downtown area and feel safe, so its not all bad.

its listed on the Center Ice lineup for tonight , so perhaps you'll get to see it.
