Suter is Unrestricted Free Agency after this season.... Wouldn't have to deal for him. Weber however is still Restricted, but the Preds cant take him to arbitration. I agree with the post that they can't sign all 3, regardless of what pipedreams they have... Unless Uncle Gary helps them pay for it.

I live in the Metro Nashville area (transplanted) and here is the latest on Weber for those interested.... Shea Weber was quoted as saying he was made an offer similar to what Rinne received (7-49m) but he did not accept it because he wants to determine if that team is dedicated to winning. He likes the area and wouldn't mind staying there if the situation was right; but he has told the Predators that he would like them to add some scoring to the lineup as well. I heard this on 102.5 and 104..5, both sports talk stations in the area. (There used to be a Preds fan that lived on these boards, guy thought he was the ultimate authority on hockey) Suter is rumored to be wanting in the 6 to 7 per range... I think it will be hard for them to resign all 3, and have another Tampa Bay situation where 3 guys take up at least 1/3 of your cap, and in this case, their cap ceiling is lower than the league max..... Most important off season in history for this Preds franchise IMO...... Wings would do well if they got either Suter or Weber, of course Weber would be the better pick due to his physical play and 100 mph slapper !

Wings still don't drive the net, all teams are doing to us is clogging up in front of their goalie, knowing the shots will be taken from the outside. I'm waiting for the days of Franzen driving the net to return, he seems to disappear more often than not these days. Sharks got bigger and better, and the Wings stood pat. mLive also talked to Franzen and Hossa last week, with Franzen saying "were very close" and Hossa responding with "we're not" thats not quoted word for word, but I made a long story short. Hossa saying he will take less money, doesnt really say how much is "less money" if he were willing to accept less money, he would have done so instead of "Settling" for what Lidstrom makes... Im not saying he wont be resigned, but this will be more difficult than most of us know.... Holland also never tips his hand in the press prior to anything.....

I don't see how this Franzen deal being that long of a term helps in the long run.....sure he gets money up front, but the 3.9 mill hit is still a 3.9 mill hit, just the same as if they went 4 years close to 16 mill... I dont see either Zetterberg or Franzen playing at the end of both these deals, more than likely one or maybe both will be retired....if Im thinking right, the money doesnt affect the cap if they are retired... but there will be amendments to the CBA im sure, especially after todays signing... they should have some sort of buyout changes where teams can just buyout players and not hit the cap as it does currently...

Bettman wont drop any teams willingly, it would mean he would have to admit he was wrong. He'll just make the league continue to prop up one that are hurting financially, as hes done with Phoenix for most of this season and who knows how long prior to this year. Guy has no clue.

At what point in the game did Sid remove the visor? What was the score, and so on? If it were late and Boston was down, they don't need Savard in the box for 5 minutes.... I did not see the game so I don't know, but perhaps take the game situation into consideration. Watching those 2 fight would be pretty funny though...

Im trying to remember the last time Weber fought someone that was actually someone who fights... Anyways, yeah you guys won tonight, 3 or 4 trailers burned down over in Smyrna and Antioch from the party, good for you. But its like this....its one regular season game, and there are 2 left between you Predaturds and the Wings, March 29th I know is one of them, and according to Babcock, it wont be forgotten. Not like tonight's going to propel you into the division lead,(26 points out, I believe) or even THIRD place. If and I mean IF the Turds get in it will be the 7th spot at best. As desperate as Nashville's situation has become, I dont think FooFoo is dumb enough to start trying to run players and chance giving Detroit another Power Play, unless he wants to sit the bench for a while. Guy is worthless.

Expect at some point, for someone to tell you how bad Detroit sucks, but yet their team if the season ended today, would not qualify for a playoff spot.. They will act like its this blood rivalry, but yet Detroit wins 6 or 7 out of 10, and the Wings have beaten them twice out of 2 tries in the playoffs...
