Some of the goals these 2 have been allowing SHOULD BE STOPPED. I agree with the point that yes the defense needs to shore up, but the goalies giving up crap goals doesn't help. Kronwall needs to step it up in a major way....

Mr Kahn over at MLive has said that Lebda is having difficulty holding onto his 6th dman spot. Kronwall for the most part has stunk it up. Too bad we're not so close to the cap and it could be time for our 6ft 5 beast from GR to start playing.

I didnt say I agreed with it, but there are many fans up there that are spoiled like that. I was in Detroit when they beat Pitt, and the people around Garden City were like "HO HUM ANOTHER FORD ROAD CRUISE" and it sort of ticked me off.

With many people Ive been associated with that are residents of the Detroit area, they are used to winning so much that they don't watch the regular season because they know the wings will finish 1st or 2nd over all and unless its really a marquee matchup they don't plan their night around it .....

The Nashville stuff is all FACT , I live in the city and have contacts within the group that monitors how city funds are spent on this team, which means they also get to see NUMBERS. If you think these teams are making money, then please explain why Atlanta, Nashville and Phoenix to name a few, are receiving Revenue Sharing, which will be somewhere in the area of 17 million dollars? Bettman admitted Phoenix was getting advances on their revenue sharing and other monies in order to prop them up until perhaps a new owner was found. Nashville is buying their own tickets for petes sake ! If you want to think they are making money, think as you will; but the rest of us know whats up. Oh by the way, Nashville as of this morning, is averaging just over 13,800 per game in attendance, yep big money maker there eh ?

I lived just south of Kansas City for close to a year for my job, and was there when the Penguins arena deal situation was up for grabs. This is no lie people, the only person on KMBC that knew of Sidney Crosby was an intern who was attending U of Kansas, so he got to deal with that story. The newspaper was so-so about the story, but it was 99% posting things from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, USA Today or other media sources. The Sprint Center is new, state of the art, beautiful arena, and they are dying to put a pro team in it. Not sure how the NHL would go over there. They just dont follow hockey.

Nashville is having to buy their own tickets in order to qualify for the full revenue sharing....Their first owner lost between 70 to 90 mill. They have struggled ever since the franchise has been in existance. This year is no different. Ownership is giving them the first 10 games after the break to try and make a move or more than likely we'll see the farm system for the remainder of the season. San Joses owner and Dallas owner both have been reprimanded by Bettman for making comments about this franchise's financial troubles. Phoenix is in deep trouble, their ownership has reportedly lost 30 mill per for at least the past 2 seasons, and is on track to lose 45 mill this season. The league is currently allowing them to borrow against their revenue sharing, and player movement has to be approved by the NHL front office. They have improved their attendance this season with their current 5th or 6th place standing in the West, but they have a horrible deal with the city of Glendale, who runs that Jobing.com arena. One crazy stipulation is that its free parking for the fans, but the Coyotes have to pay a fee to the city for each vehicle that parks in their lots. It's a slap in the face when people ask Bettman about the teams who are in financial trouble and he blatently lies and says all teams are making money..... He thinks the world is that nieve, all I know is that he is starting to piss off the major owners who are the ones footing the bill for Bettmans Southern Hockey projects that are failing.... This All Star Game does not carry the stroke that it once did, no body gives a hoot anymore.....

WDFN admittedly catered to the Pistons because that pulled in a more diverse audience. Beligan was too self centered on his own agenda, and I was a fan of the guy, but he was trying too hard to be like Jim Rome. Im sad that those men lost their jobs and in that market, they may have to relocate to get new employment.

Hank wont be 6.7, Franzen wont be 3.5, Hudler wont be 2.25, Sammy will be gone......

They signed Hossa, so his time was cut. He doesn't get PP time due to that also, so lets think about it before we get on here bashing the guy....

breakaways are going to happen every now and then.......thats why you have a goalie is to STOP stuff like that. But both of those were shots that he should have stopped; its not like he was deked out of his jock or anything like that. His reaction times last night were slow especially his glove... Its been that way most of the season with him, not sure if hes done or what....Only reason this guy has a winning record is the offense in front of him.

Kubina and Gonchar are both getting up there in age, and they dont play that great of defense especially Gonchar. People also need to take into consideration that the Salary Cap more than likely will go DOWN, not up. May not be as much money to spend...

Im living back in the Nashville area, and I agree with your points about fan support in Nashville; but many of these people think that it will work itself out and the rumors will go away... They seem to have more people screaming "SAVE OUR TEAM" than actually go to the games... Those restaurants and bars along Broadway south of the Sommet Center benefit greatly from the Preds being around, but most of them do not own season tickets. Most of the support such as that goes to the Titans, Vanderbilt, or U of Tennessee.. Preds come in after them.

Phoenix can NOT make a player move at this point without the OK from the NHL league office... This essentially means that the NHL is propping this team up. I think they are trying to negotiate the lease changes, plus find another owner or even perhaps home for this squad. Phoenix had been receiving advances on their revenue sharing money to help out with the bills.....This is worse than anyone cares to admit..
