Why is it the Wings never have scheduled give away games? They always seem to let you know at the door if they're giving anything out. When the baseball season comes around, there are give aways at almost every game. Yes, I know there are more games and seats to be sold in baseball. But with the games not being sold out, have puck nights, shirt nights, stick nights(so you can club a Hawks or Avs fan), or whatever. People may go more if they know they're getting something.

I got mine yesterday, 9/12. Each ticket has a black and white and color picture of a player. Opening game has Nick Lidstrom(oversized ticket). Even Brian Rafalski is on a ticket, in a Wings jersey. Not sure if they graphically generated a Wings jersey on him, or they took pics on the ice and printed them that way. Filppula and Kopecky are also on this years tickets. I do have a 7 game pack available if anyone is interested. Sec. 227. 1 exhibition, Toronto 9/29 , and 6 regular season games. Nashville 11/7, Minnesota 12/7, Dallas 1/2, Phoenix 1/30, Chicago 3/11, Columbus 4/3. 2 seats for each game, $315.

Are there no numbers on the sleeves? That's what it looks like in the pictures.

For all of you fans who are considering buying season tickets. I've had them for 21 years. The only reason I keep getting them is I have people who are willing to buy them. I put 6 regular season games +1 exhibition game together. That way I don't get stuck with them. Spread them out so it's 1 game about every month. I go to about 6 or 7 games throughout the year. So if you have 5 or 6 friends willing to buy them, it's worth it. To all who have given up your tickets, I know how you feel. Ilitch should have lower prices 2 years ago, like he promised and the scheduke sucks, again!!

Garden City has the best drop-in around. Monday,Wednesday and Friday, 11am-1pm. $6 for 2 hours. Starts again in Sept. But you better be able to play. Good skaters, and they know the game.

If Daniels did leave, which wouldn't bother me one way or another, I would go after Chris Cuthbert. He's always been one of my favorite announcers.

Just to let you know, The Red Wings are sending out refund checks for all the unplayed playoff games. In the letter, GM Ken Holland states that because of the burden of the economy, it was decided to refund all playoff money. I got my check today.

January 2nd, 1980. The 4th game played at the JLA, a 4-2 loss to Los Angeles(in their purple road sweaters).After seeing plenty of games at the Olympia, where you were right on top of the action, I couldn't stand the new building. Still can't. I hope Ilitch builds a new one soon. The Wings had a goal disallowed when the puck entered through a hole in the net next to the post.

Too bad the coaches allowed Homer to return. With a 4-0 lead, they could've let him sit the rest of the game, say he may not be able to play game 4, and maybe Pronger would've gotten more.

Depending on the outcome of the Dallas/Vancouver game Monday night, along with the 2nd round schedule, I'm sure CBC will still have coverage of Detroit's games. They had announcers at most of the 1st round games, and would cut to them during intermissions, i.e. Buffalo/NYI, NJ/TB. So, if Dallas knocks off Vancouver, Anaheim would then play San Jose late,then the Wings/Stars games will probably be shown, depending on when Ottawa plays.

When Ilitch was elected to the Hall of Fame, he said "We have to lower ticket prices." As was already stated, supply and demand. Also remember that all playoff money is kept by the owners. The players get paid with regular season money, so there's no way he's dropping prices as long as the arena keeps being filled.

Did he offer the cop $1,000,000 to let him go like last time?

Money for the 1st two rounds are due by March 7th. If you want to buy all 4 rounds at once, money must be in by March 1st. "Cheap" seats,$22, start in row 22. At least in my section,227B. I've been putting up money for regular season and playoffs for the past 20 years. Not sure if I want to do it again.

I also recall that before the Draper cheap shot, Lemieux hit Igor from behind right at the Wing's bench, where he almost did the splits. What Lemiuex did to Draper is one of the dirtiest plays I've ever seen, but what about McCarty? Claude turtles, so what does he do? Knees him in the head. At least they went toe-to-toe the next year, as it should be.
