I've always said "If Chris Pronger ever wins a Cup..." I literally have that gagging feeling in my throat just thinking about it. I've always felt that way, but this year has just solidified it. PS, I won't really stop watching hockey (obviously) but I will be very very very upset. And probably depressed for the better part of the summer. I'm just going to have to count on the Tigers to help me get through it...

You cried like a baby during the Steve Yzerman retirement press conference/jersey retirement. Every time you see highlights from the Cup-winning years, you get a little teary-eyed. You make the athletes under your supervision (soccer and baseball) watch the replay clips of March 26th on You tube and then search for Steve Yzerman tributes and make them watch those as well. Even well-bred Minnesota kids know what good hockey's all about. They can't deny the Yzerman.

I want to cry. We have to come out HARD in OT. Not the way we started the 3rd. Haha, "Detroit wins because they deserve to win?" Um, Brett, what? Not really how it works. If that were true, life would be fair!!

He called Kris Draper Canadian. I'm pretty sure. "Then Kris Draper came in eye to eye with Travis Moen as if to say 'I'm Canadian, you're Canadian, what are you gonna do about it?" or something to that effect.

Media pressure and laws of physics?! Always looking for an excuse so you don't have to take responsibility, eh Chris? I don't know if it's been mentioned on this board (haha) but Pronger is a tool...and that's the nicest thing I can think to call him right now. Man, I'm all jarred up all over again.

My cousin's graduation for the first period. My dad, brother, and I raced back to the house and turned it on during the intermission. I remember all of us lookng at each other as they showed the replays of the goals and we were all saying "that's not from just tonight, right?" YEP, it was!! Amazing. Every last second. I never laughed so hard as when Roy got pulled and he damn near started crying! Wow, it felt good to relive that....

An injury is NOT an injury. There's a huge difference between head/neck injuries and hand injuries. That's not rocket science. Anyone involved in sports medicine (as I am) will tell you that head/neck injuries are treated much more cautiously because of the risk of LIFE-THREATENING injury. Secondly, for all the complainers using the helmet excuse: show me one professional hockey player who wears his helmet correctly. Besides, that should be a moot point, since whether or not his helmet fit properly does not have bearing on the fact that Pronger came in, elbows up, and deliberately slammed his head into the glass. That's like saying it was Holmstrom's own fault he was injured.

I'll admit that I was very doubtful about signing Hasek...mainly because of the injury problem. The guy still gives me a heart attack every time he plays the puck but he's been fantastic. I'm just glad he's been healthy and at 42! Here's my shout-out to the Red Wings sports medicine staff for keeping him that way...

I trust him, I'm glad we have him (he's saved us numerous times), but I won't pretend that I don't have an aneurysm every time he leaves the net to play the puck. Freaking almost kills me every time.

Shocker. Is it me, or is he really trying to be Don Cherry? As the years go on, I dislike him even more...

As soon as they said he was out for the rest of the game I turned to my brother and told him it was broken...there'd be no reason not to put him back in the game if it wasn't a fracture. This sucks. Does anyone know what Kronwall's original injury was?

No effort. Wow. Did they think the Sharks were just lucky that first game? Ron Wilson wasn't impressed with his team either, so you can bet they're coming out hard...nothing like just sitting around. The Wings need to pull it together. Once they do, we'll be fine...

Yeah, exactly. Irreversible damage like death. Second Impact Syndrome...google it and let me know if you were the doctor or athletic trainer in charge of managing a concussion if you would let someone return to play while still experiencing concussion symptoms. I certainly would not want that on my head and I tend to be very cautious with returning athletes to play after a concussion. There's a reason why athletes retire because of reoccurring concussion symptoms.

On game day I will always wear a Red Wings article of clothing, jersey, sweatshirt, t-shirt, ect. And I've been told I turn into a different person when hockey playoffs start. (This was said by a couple of the football coaches that I work with...apparently girls aren't supposed to be psychotic about hockey??) I'm insanely defensive (especially since I now live in Minnesota, self-proclaimed "state of hockey"), and I will defend the Wings to the bitter end and then even after that! Also, like most of you have already said, I have frequent anxiety attacks and I'm usually nervous all day before a game.
