Eklund at it again: Shanny back, Giguere to Detroit?
Henkka replied to datsyukonethree's topic in General
Why Lang? He doesn't have any trade value. Old and possible UFA and important big center for us. We have to send Williams out of town. He has nothing to give (read=grit) what we don't have already and the Ducks would be interested him because of the loss of Lupul. -
Williams + picks for Havlat. Shanny can go.
-
Yes. It's a one year contract with a second year option.
-
I don't like him. But it would be a nice scenario to land him and Jarkko Ruutu here. Maltby - Avery - Ruutu = Dickhead line. They would really make opponents to go crazy.
-
Yes, but we have to concentrate our future right now. Filppula replaces Lang and we get solid winger in Zednik. As salaries, Filppula would save about 0.5 million comparing to retiring Yzerman's salary and Lang would save 2.0 comparing to Zednik. That would be 2.5 for free cap space plus the very probable cap rising (43million). We could have over six million free to play with after those moves.
-
If Lang goes, Filppula will be our 3th line center. I like this rumour a lot, especially if Komisarek is involved.
-
Maybe this guy replaces Homer when his time at Hockeytown is over?
-
No we are close comparing him. He is just a dickhead hockeyplayer.

Liv likely to jump the pond, but not Grigorenko
Henkka replied to betterREDthandead's topic in Prospects
Grigorenko is playing right now at the Russian national team against Finland. This is a practise game before the World Champioships. EDIT: Russia won the game 3-1 and Grigs scored the 3-1 goal in the last period. Nice effort from him. -
Was the first 2 games just defensive catastrophies, or was Howard also bad?
-
There's still no D in Delmore.

I still like this idea. Jönsson is maybe the best free stay-at-home guy in Europe right now. He would be awesome to be paired with Kronwall. We could also have this guy to replace Fischer's spot almost perfectly. Jönsson is a little bit older, not so big and not so physical, but he is a perfect defenseman with the new NHL rules. I'm quite sure that Kenny would be very interested in joining this Red Wings Swedish communnity. Red Wings Defence 2006-07: Lidström-Lilja Jönsson-Kronwall Schneider-Chelios (Lebda)

Why acquire Hemsky? We have Grigorenko coming to make that magic show with Datsyuk. And Shanny could be that power worker.
-
Awesome! Hopefully he does well at the AHL level.

Could someone tell what lines Griffins are using at the moment? I read from some other topic that Filppula plays in 3rd line with Kopecky and Bootland, but howabout the others? Manlow? - Hudler - MacLean? Ellis? - ??? - ??? Kopecky - Filppula - Bootland ??? - ??? - ??? Quincey - Helmer ? Meech - ??? ??? - ??? Howard/MacDonald
-
What has the lineup been in recent games? Who's been hot and who's been cold?
-
Yes. that's how his name is spelled for Belarus. For Russian his name is spelled Sergei Kolosov.
-
Thank god.

No answers yet...?

Does Cross have a contract until 2006-07 season?

Still waiting first Eklund to come true.

I just love to read this profile from Russianprospects.com Igor Grigorenko (Detroit Red Wings) back in full force Igor Grigorenko (Detroit Red Wings) is back! The young forward, now with Severstal (Cherpovets), dominates the game as he did a couple of seasons back prior to his horrendous injury. He is fast, aggressive and doesn’t hesitate to drive through opponents towards the net. Grigorenko’s return to form can largely be credited to his former junior team coaches, Rafael Ishmatov and Vladimir Plyuschev. Both coaches trusted the young forward during his time on the U18 and U20 squads, and the two once again believed in his ability despite the adversity. As the head coach of Salavat Yulayev (Ufa), Ishmatov gave Grigorenko the opportunity to regain his scoring touch last season when Lada all but gave up on the young forward. This season, now the head coach of Severstal (Cherpovets), Vladimir Plyuschev outbid Ishmatov for Grigorenko’s services, staking his prestige on the young forward’s ability. Thus far Plyuschev’s prestige is in good shape, as the Detroit Red Wings prospect is enjoying a spectacular season. He has meshed quite well with Calgary Flames prospect Yuri Trubachev on the club’s top line and will likely represent Russia at each EuroTour tournament, if not the World Championships. The young forward’s NHL dream now appears to be within months, not years. Can't wait to see him at Wings.

Filppula has been natural center whole his career.
-
Yes, he has enough size, even more than Crosby. In new NHL the size doesn't matter so much anymore. Only thing what would concern is his speed.
-
I just want him at next season. Then he is just UFA, and no any waivers are disturbing getting him.
