it was an interesting choice for sure. i think bertuzzi is playing hurt so they pry wouldnt use him. filpulla has been as good as zetterberg (which is to say not very good) in shootouts. idiotically enough i was kinda hoping drew miller would get a shot. he scored the winning goal in the last one and has played well.

never thought he had the ability to be above 2nd-3rd line player. he sees the game well but doesnt have the skill to be a top scorer.

because hes played 1000 games as a red wing and like it or not that's how the wings operate. loyal to a fault sometimes. maybe edmonton wants him back! he can retire where he started!

we have enough guys who work in the trenches. the wings spend more time cycling the puck this year then they have in a long time. problem is...its hard to score from along the boards. -
sucks that Zubov went there. Would have made a good Lidstrom replacement when he retires.

um....what? this team hasnt put together a string of wins more than 2 games since the first week of december (and thats including OT wins). they are in a season long slump.

it would have been completly idiotic to do but it would have been interesting to see him play forward(his original position in europe) when we super decimated earlier this season ala meech.

i cant believe im saying this......it should be ericcson scratched. he is having a HORRIBLE year, and yes i know this is his first real season. He looks completely lost/in over his head. He could have used another year in GR.

completely unrelated.... in my NHL 10 'be a pro' career. Lidstrom gets traded to the AVS and retires their captain. Maybe itll happen in real life! -
by the end of this thread we are going to retire his number and send him to the HOF. he was an ok 6th defenseman who was frequently scratched in favor of lebda. Im happy hes coming back and everything cause he can certainly play a role but lets not overstate his worth. I think it has to do with the fact we just havnt had much/any good news so we will take what we can.

he had freegin major back surgery. im just saying a lot of guys with back problems fall off REALLY fast. He HAS played really good this season...but in 3 years he could be a liability. I guess that's the risk you take.
