Of the remaining 10 Cup winners, seven made deals that you would best characterize as minor, such as the Avs acquiring forward Dave Hannan in 1996, the Wings picking up defenceman Dmitri Mironov in 1998 and defenceman Jiri Slegr in 2002, the Tampa Bay Lightning dealing for defenceman Stan Neckar in 2004 and the Anaheim Ducks adding Brad May (his contribution was sucker-punching Minnesota defenceman Kim Johnsson in the first round) and Doug O'Brien last year. HAHAHAHA The New Jersey Devils landed Alexander Mogilny at the deadline in 2000, but he managed just four goals and three assists in 23 playoff games, which could hardly be classed as a major contribution. That leaves just three of the last 15 winners making what we could call significant deals that played a role in winning the Stanley Cup.
