you'd be surprised how many professional athletes smoke (especially the euros).
-
dude, totally uncalled for.
-
who cares if the ducks deserved to win or not?... they won... just be as gracious in losing as you do in winning... nobody likes a poor sport.
-
see ya duckette... it was great while it lasted... don't be a stranger.
-
whaaa?!? no "duck in 3"?... just messin' with ya... good luck next round.
-
we all know kariya will play for the ducks for practically free just to come back to reunite with teemu. *queue "secret lovers" by atlantic star*

i believe that if you look at a few game day threads, you will see a good number of people giving giguere props for stealing a couple of games in the series. not everyone is using the good 'ol bad officiating and illegal pad size excuses.
-
no, actually it probably would have been a 0-0 game going into overtime and assuming everything else woulda stayed the same, lilja would have been an even bigger goat.
-
let's just hope babs breaks up that bert/langer/dano line. they certainly didn't look great in our own end last game.
-
although i won't go as far as to say that lilja doesn't deserve any blame for the loss, you really have to admire how he manned-up for it after the fact. he has really turned the corner this post season, let's hope he puts this behind him and continues to improve.
-
seriously? bert seems to be playing a lot better in the offensive zone. and he seems to be much more effective facing the net rather than playing with his back toward the net (ala homer). that's why i think when bert is on the pp, we should be running plays from behind the net. if i recall correctly, both of his last 2 goals were scored from plays that started from behind the net. his defensive zone skills still need a lot of work. that giveaway last night was just awful. there wasn't anyone within 10 feet of the guy and he turns the freakin' puck over.

you gotta admit that 1 sog with 1:38 of 5-on-3 with no pronger is at least a little pathetic. we certainly looked too passive on that 2nd 5-on-3 and hopefully that won't be the turning point of the series. talk about pissing away a golden opportunity.
-
3rd period 5-on-3 for 1:38 against a prongerless ducks team, and we get 1 stinking SOG... talk about a golden opportunity lost... well, at least we got the split.
-
the good folks in section 413 were definitely cheering that homer was injured on the play. if it wasn't for the game misconduct anouncement, they'd probably still be cheering.
-
true. but the parking situation at the ponda makes things even worse. it took me well over an hour just to park and get into the arena. i coulda parked, got into the arena, took a piss, got some panda, found my seats, ate, and took a nap in the same amount of time at staples.

i believe hasek was actually questioning an intentional offsites call (i don't know for sure because i was at the game and i can only guess that this was the nature of the discussion), that had a faceoff come back into the detroit zone with like 3.3 seconds on the clock. the fans were bitching and moaning because they already felt that the ducks had an unfair amount of calls go against them in the game, and they probably assumed that hasek was lobying for another call. still, i noticed that a lot of ducks fans were cheering after holmstrom was injured (and this was well after it was very clear that there was an injured player on the ice), calling for the ducks to start fights after the game was clearly decided, and throwing bottles and towels onto the ice surface during the game. not exactly a night to be proud of if you're a ducks fan.
-
i don't think he/she was actually comparing cheli to pronger.
-
vs definitely does not have a bias toward the wings. and besides, eddie olczyk is a dumbass.
-
i didn't see it, so i can't really comment. but based on what i've read, horry got a 2-gamer and diaw and stoudmire got 1-gamers for leaving the bench. i'm sure all of them will get docked some pay for the suspensions, but there were no fines as far as i know. the real punishment is hurting their respective teams in their playoff bids. sounds pretty fair to me.
-
you have to hit players in their wallets (as in fines and suspensions) to get the message accross. sure there are dirty players in all sports, but allowing players to police their own sport by encouraging fighting only opens the door for more goonery. that said, i'm glad the nhl actually delivered this time.
-
pronger got what he deserved. hopefully we can take advantage of this and put a strangle hold on the series. if we lose to a prongerless ducks team tomorrow night, we'll be in trouble come sunday.
-
what was bossy's take on the calgary incident? now that's something you could really blame an entire team about. that was really a prick move by the donger and he should and will be suspended for it. but i don't necessarily think that single play is entirely reflective of what ducks hockey is all about.
