Good point, but since we want Colorado to win, that means that Nashvile will win in OT.

Whoops...didn't see that. It's at the bottom of the page already, no posts. Anyways, AV's score on a 5 on 3. 1-0.

Datsyuk is 30, that's not really that old. Bert is 34, I think, again not really that old. Maltby doesn't play defense. I don't think any of the Wings fit the description of "intense." If I had to choose what wing was the most intense then I'd go with Babcock.

I agree. Abs-Helm-Eaves would make a nice fit. I think we'll see this soon.

Which team do you WANT to win? USA Which team do you think WILL win? Russia Which team do you think will be a suprise? Finland which team do you think will ultimately choke? Canada

Wow. Our injury description only takes up 1 line! Hurray for Progress!!! Wings need to take this one. I'm predicting either Bert or Z gives us Arby's tomorrow. Wings 3-2

What a soft euro. Did you see how he went down? Good ol' North American boys would have toughened it out...
-
Wow, that was quite possibly the worst I've seen this team play in recent memory. No one could control the puck or make a pass...

MLive Lots of stuff in this article. This probably means that it'll be a quiet deadline day for the wings. It should be interesting how all this shakes out. Huge changes could be happening.

Is Sean Avery the Best Agitator in League History?

I remember being in Toronto and meeting Domi in person once. I can tell you that there is no way in hell that he was 5'11'', much less even 5'9''. He must have been like 5'7'', maybe 5'8''. Dude had an incredible ability to take punches. I remember the Probert vs. Domi round 2 bout where Probert must have landed 40 good punches on Domi. Most guys wouldn't have lasted through that first flurry that Probie threw.

I think there's also a winter classic curse. Pit beat Buffalo - Pit loses in finals Wings beat Chicago - Det loses in finals Bruins beat Philly - ? -
Lidstrom won't announce future plans till after season
FunkedUp replied to FunkedUp's topic in General
I heard Lidstrom wants to finish his career in Vasteras, but he obviously can still play another season or 2 in the NHL before that. Sure, he hasn't posted great offensive numbers, but he still is solid in the defensive zone. I think the outcome of the season will determine his fate... Miss Playoff = Lidstrom retirement Playoff run = Lidstrom extension Cup Win = Lidstrom retirement I also don't think that Leino is going anywhere, regardless of what people think. People that suggest trading him fail to realize that he has no trade value, and it would be wasteful and impatient of us to do this. I'm pretty sure Leino will have until the end of next season to impress the wings brass. He can be cut some slack for his rookie year, but if his production isn't up next season, then he won't be resigned. All of this news makes me think that Holland will be patient (as usual) and make only a minor move at the deadline. I'm thinking he might trade a defenseman/pick for a top 6 forward, but at this point I think that's being pretty ambitious. As for the injuries, I'm beginning to wonder if we will see a full and healthy line up at all this season. -
Unbelievable. 5-5 Min and Chi. Though, this will most likely be a game where CHI wins, and MIN just gets our hopes up.

I swear, I don't even get excited anymore when we get a PP. I feel we have a better chance of scoring shorthanded at this point. With our PP as bad as it is, I'm surprised that we are even in the playoff hunt once you combine that with all of our injuries. Does anyone else feel this way?

Haha, then he goes and taunts the Leafs bench afterwards...

A game in January against the Los Angeles Kings never meant so much...

Pav and Bert won't be separated... Lines will be... Homer-Pav-Bert Cleary-Z-Eaves Draper-Filppula-Miller Abby-Helm-Maltby That's what I'm thinking, but Bab's could be a trickster...

Red Wings' Johan Franzen skates with team for first time
FunkedUp replied to 40#1Fan's topic in General
Everyone is mentioning that he shouldn't rush back, but I'm thinking that's exactly what he plans to do. You can tell he wants to play for the Olympic team, and if he gets a game or 2 in before the break, then I'm sure he can make his case. I don't think the wings doctors would clear him though, unless he was 100%. I think the Olympics means more to him then the NHL, not that I could blame him. Anyways, getting the Mule back will be like a nice trade deadline acquisition.
