We're really going to see what the Wings are made out of tonight...
-
Arghhh! Imagine how much better things would be with... Lids-Raf Kron-Stu Lil-Eric I just want to play the ducks in the playoffs with a healthy d-core.

Huge game...which could potentially alter the series outcome. Taking a 2-0 lead going out west would be great. I remember in 07 we lost game 2 and going down that road could be trouble. That being said... Lids with another stellar effort. Hossa and Z net 1 a piece. Dats with 2 points. Mule will somehow barrell his way through the ducks and score the GWG tonight... Wings go up 2-0

Theres no way of us knowing how serious it is. After Franzens episode during the playoffs last year, no one on the Wings is going to to be specific about their injuries.

Brown will be gone for the series. 5 games minimum. I hope Huds is okay.

Great stuff. I'm really glad to see Lilja practicing again. Hopefully, he'll be alright. It would be great for him to come back this playoff run, though I'm not overly optomistic. Drapes is out for games 1 and 2, but I think we'll see him by game 3. Thoughts?

I think this will be a really good series. Carolina is a more formidable opponent than Montreal and the Bruins will get their first playoff test. The B's do have forwards that can do damage and have a good defense. I think this series will fall on Thomas and Ward, whichever netminder outplays the other takes the series. I'm predicting the Bruins in 5, but with the way the Canes looked in the NJ series at times they might be able to steal more than one game. What are your thoughts?

I think the B's pose the biggest threat out of the eastern conference. They are unproven though, and this series should be a good indication of where things sit.

I love how no one around him is doing anything or even noticing for that matter.

Going to be a great series! I look forward to avenging 07'. Wings in 6.

It kind of reminded me of Fluery knocking the puck in on himself in the Finals last year, but it was a bit different. The puck barely even crossed the goal line. Tough break for Hiller, but I am more than happy to see this series drag on longer.

damn...did anyone honestly predict the ducks would take the first 2 games?
-
Wow. What an effort Cheechoo.

We had points yesterday from 7 different people, none of them named Datsyuk, Hossa, Lidstrom, or Rafalski. Datsyuk and Hossa will come out hungry and pick up 2 points each. Ozzie shuts up doubters even more. Wings go up 2-0.

Well. St. Louis just sealed the deal and the Wings will be playing Columbus in the first round. This will be an exciting matchup. The Wings must get to Mason, as we have seen what a hot netminder can do against us in the post-season. Glad to see were playing all the games in the same time zone though! What do you guys think? GO WINGS!!! (Just for kicks) _______________W L OTL POINTS 2008/09 - Detroit 51 21 10 - 112 2007/08 - Detroit 54 21 7 - 115

Hopefully St. Louis wins tomorrow. That way we get Columbus and the Sharks get to deal with the Ducks, who will destroy eachother in that first round. Columbus is inexperienced in the playoffs and the Wings will turn it on and over power them. Not to mention the travel is in driving distance. Look for Hossa to have an un-real post season.
-
Yes, but if both teams win or both teams lose/lose in OT then we will face Anaheim. If any of this happens then Anaheim would be 7th because they have more wins than St. Louis during the regular season. This is of course assuming that Columbus wins or loses in OT. If Columbus loses in regulation and St. Louis and Anaheim win then Anaheim takes over the 6th seed and Columbus becomes the 7th seed. If Columbus loses in regulation, St. Louis wins, and Anaheim loses then St. Louis moves into 6th seed and Columbus into 7th and Anaheim into 8th. To sum it all up...we will either be facing Anaheim, St. Louis or Columubus. We'll know more tomorrow after Anaheim plays. Hopefully, thats not as confusing to understand as it was to type up...

Anaheim - Phoenix 8:00 Saturday St. Louis - Colorado 5:00 Sunday If Anaheim wins Saturday then they take the 7th seed. For St. Louis to take the 7th seed, then Anaheim must lose on Saturday and St. Louis must win on Sunday.

If the Sharks get one more point or the wings lose one more game then SJ takes the #1 seed.
