I think all things are pointing towards a first round matchup against the ducks.
-
The question is whether or not the wings retire his number if he catches Sawchuck.

The game between the Ducks and the Sharks is going to be a good one. I think it will be very physical and entertaining especially since they play again tomorrow. The moment of truth for the Ducks...

I don't think so. What I think is going to happen is that Franzen will sign a long term front loaded deal before playoffs start with a cap hit around 4 million. I think that Hoss will resign after the playoffs and that we will get him for a bargain (even by wings standards). I'm thinking something like a 10 year 7 7 7 7 6 6 6 6 3 3 with a cap hi of 5.8. You guys probably think I'm crazy, but no one thought Z would have a 6m cap hit. First off, he wouldn't be taking much of a pay cut for those first 4 years, and after he'll be in the ballpark of Hank and Pav. Hossa has already made many millions and he took a HUGE paycut to come play for a winning team. He obvious likes it here, and has been quoted by saying "I will take less $ to play in Detriot."

It's obvious he won't be back with the B's next season, and he'd have to take a significant paycut to play here. There is no way he's worth 4.3/year on Detroit's roster, and he probably won't come here anyways. The Bruins have some tough decisions to make. Kessel and Krecji are both due RFA's and will be asking for much more next year. Lucic will also be getting a big raise in 2010. I think 5.2 is too much for Timmy. I know he's having a fantastic year, but I don't see him repeating his performance again.

San Jose is going to be facing some tough and determined opponents in these next 4 games. Mon, Mar 30 at Calgary Thu, Apr 2 at Edmonton Sat, Apr 4 Anaheim Sun, Apr 5 at Anaheim Anaheim and Edmonton are both desperate so they will be at playoff intensity. Should be good...

Wings need to take this one. Look for Ozzie to have a great game. Wings 4-1. Z with 2, Flip, and Dats.

This is a really good thing. Even though the wings and sharks are tied for points the wings still have more wins. This could be crucial to determining the regular season champion and home ice advantage for the playoffs., which will be very important this year.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=AqTG...n&type=lgns good article...thoughts?

Yeah, Sammy seems to be the whipping boy around here. The thing is that there are 29 other teams that would love to have him at 1.2 per season.

Playoffs line up will be Babcock-McCrimmon-MacLean Ilitich - Hakkan Andersson- Jim Nill- Ken Daniels - Trevor Thompson - Mickey York Al Sobotka - Devellano - Karen Newman John Keating - Ken Kal Mo Cheese - Marian Ilitch Ansar Khan - Drew Sharp Holland in goal Thats your 2009 Stanley Cup champs right there.

It's a good idea, but I'd rather discuss eliminating the 3-point game. How about all games are worth 2 points. 2 for a victory and 0 for a loss, even if its in OT or a SO. No ties. Instead of playing 5 minutes of overtime then we can play 10 minutes. Then after that we have a shootout.

I have no confidence is Osgood at this moment. I do think that he has the potential to be able to win another cup, but not this year. With 15 or so games left, you cannot just turn on the switch on command. Our goal tending this year will be our downfall, with a breakdown in defense a close second. I admire the confidence in all you Ozzie supporters, but at this point....things are not looking good. Hopefully, I am proved wrong.

I think it was smart. All of us here can come up with hypotheticals, but the truth is that we don't know what Holland was really thinking and we never will know. Last year, people were calling for his head. Unbeknownst to us, Holland was trying to get Hossa, but wouldn't give up the depth that the Penguins did. Last year, at this time I felt a bit disappointed, but looking back on it...it was a smart thing to do (not bid the future). I'm sure he was trying to get someone, but wouldn't give up the asking price. Everything is fine with me...I wish we picked up Neil, but I don't know the inside scoop.

TSN is reporting Jay-Bow is staying put.

I know. I was at a B's game the other day and a bunch of B's fans were lecturing me on how Lucic could beat Probert and Kocur. Now, Lucic is a great young kid, who is a great role player, and decent fighter, but I got a chuckle out of this one... Although Lucic on the wings would be sweet.

just wondering....when was the last time a team scored five goals against the wings in one period?
-
Haha...yeah. I'll be going to the Bruins/Ducks game tonight so I'll let you guys know if I hear of anything through the grapevine.
-
I hear the Bruins are going to push for him at the trade deadline.
-
Word on the street is that Pronger will be traded to the Bruins.
-
I somehow feel that who ever wins this game takes the conference.
-
Haha. Classic.
