Yes. Very true, but I'm afraid that Lilja does not carry the reputation that Laraque does...
-
Lilja vs. Lucic next Saturday. Just wait...
-
He'll be a free-agent summer of 2010, and his salary at that time is 685k. There is no way the Bruins let a guy like him go though.

Lilja is just fine. As much as I hate to say it, Lidstrom is the one I'm worried about. The man has nothing left to prove...

Our season is over...

The best part of the whole thing...very cool article.

Just for thoughts. The average Detroit FCI is lower than the NHL average. http://www.teammarketing.com/blog/index.html?article_id=39 Also, average beer prices!

The best thing for the Wings right now is for them to get on the road. Tonight was all fun and games and stuff with the celebrations, but the real season has started. They've been home for too long. Once they get on the road, the team will start to settle in. Tough less, but let's move forward. I wouldn't mind seeing Datsyuk and Zetterberg playing on the same line though...
-
I more excited when we get a powerplay with 50 seconds left in the period or something like that... Hossa-Datsyuk-Zetterberg Lidstrom-Rafalski How do you contain that?
-
Well... at least his business saviness and management skills are not parallel to his goal tending skills.

Sammy!

This is very disappointing that they are not televising. I understand that any regular season sport takes place over any preseason sport. (Regular season Tigers > Pre-season Red Wings) Although, when there is NOTHING else going on, in the Detroit sports world, it makes no sense to not televise these games. ARGHHH!!!

Who is playing tonight? Stream?

http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...stined_for.html Good article. I found Bab's comment on Lilja the most interesting. Discuss...

The Penguins are in big trouble now, and will likely not come out of the gate very fast.
-
Lidstrom - Rafalski Kronwall - Stuart Lilja- Lebda Chelios I think Meech and Quincey are gone.
-
You're right. Leino can opt to go back to Finland if he so desires. I would think that if he doesn't make the squad then he'll be on his way over the pond.
-
Zetterberg will get somewhere between 7-8/season. I'm guessing it mirrors Lidstroms contract at 7.45, We will see though.

Cool man. The Marriott is in a good area. You won't have problems there. Just be mindful of your surroundings. A lot of people will exaggerate the dangers of downtown Detroit and might advise you not to stay there, but as a resident and local that is simply not true. I don't mean to scare you, because downtown Detroit is very safe, but remember that you are in Detroit! You technically could make both Lions and Pistons games if you wanted, and by doing so you would have a great day of Detroit sports, but Ford Field (Lions) and The Palace (Pistons) are not very close to eachother but not too far away either. I'd estimate it would take about an 1 hour to get to Auburn Hills from Detroit, but you never know...could be less or more depending on a number of factors. If I were you, I'd definitely do both! Enjoy Detroit! It suffers a bad rep a lot, but its a great city!
