This game wasn't very good, apart from the first 5 mins. I thought the Flyers would goon it up for the rest of the game, guess I was wrong.

Hopefully our roster isn't further decimated by injuries from the Olympics. I like to think everyone would be fine, but with the way the season has gone it's likely someone will get injured. Holland isn't going to stop anyone from participating.

Yeah, the rest of the month is very important. It could provide a boost if we show up and play. I'm anticipating for us to stay in the same position we are, and we'll probably go .500 or so up until the new year. Getting Fil back will be huge. He was our best player before the injury, and I'm sure he's ready to get er goin again. I don't understand how people can complain about Homer. I mean he's leading the team in goals for goodness sake. There's also so many goals that directly resulted from his presence even if he doesn't show up on the scoresheet.

I actually think Kenny should go after Tootoo. I don't like him, but he would be sweet on the wings.

Michigan by far... No way for Massachusetts. I lived in Boston for a while now, and hockey here is not as big as most would think. To be completely honest, no one here really cares about hockey. The Bean Pot tourney draws a decent crowd, but it's no bigger than the GLI. People don't really care about the Bruins, in fact prior to last year it's been absolutely dead. With all the good teams here...Boston U, Boston C, Northeastern, Harvard, Amherst, etc, it's surprising how little college sports matter here at all. Youth hockey is basically non-existent, at least when compared to MI or MN. Onto Minny... First off, I played in Duluth for a little while and have several family members who have played in Minny as well, but everyone of us came to the conclusion that Michigan was a bigger hockey state. Okay, so youth hockey may be big in MN, but it's just as big in Michigan, if not bigger. The whole state of hockey thing is a crock. Granted they are passionate about the game there, but not as much as Michigan. The colleges in Michigan are stronger as well. And for the trump card...what state can be considered the best hockey state when they lose their professional NHL team? Basically if your state doesn't begin with an "M" then you have no businesses claiming a hockey title. 1. Michigan 2. Minnesota 3. Massachusetts

So Gary B looks like he's finally come around. I'm not sure if he took too many pain meds and slipped when he said this, but it appears that he's interested in expanding the NHL in Canada. I agree. I definitely don't want to see a Lebda/Meech pairing cause that's a big defensive liability, even for a third pairing. Someone with stay at home qualities would be good, and that's why Janik would be the best fit. Our third pairing doesn't need to be offensively minded, as long as they can make good outlet passes and play smart in our own zone then they've done there job. We don't need two wannabe puckmovers back there. I agree with everything else though. This is a prime opportunity to pair E with Lidstrom. Also, for some reason I really want to put Helm on a line with Pavel to see what happens...

Chicago hates Detroit because Detroit has more titles than them. They are jealous that a relatively poor blue collar city with a dwindling population still somehow manages to outperform their town, and that makes their ironic outbursts even funnier... Anyways, to everyone saying that is classless to yell some team sucks needs to get a life. The people saying how classless Chicago is were probably the same people saying how awesome it was when the crowd yelled "Crosby Sucks!" during the playoffs last year. Frankly, I would love it if the Joe cranked out more passion cause sometimes it's dead in there.

Duckies are coming off a shootout loss, and will likely be a bit tired from playing back2back nights. However, I'm sure they still have the bitter taste of defeat lingering and they will come out swinging. It should be a good game. If Howie keeps up his play and our defense shuts down the ducks top line, then we got this one in the bag. I'm also expecting a duel between Parros and May... Wings 3 - Kronwall, Datsyuk, Z with the empty netter Ducks 1 - Corey "The Ferry" Perry

Leino needs to get going. His lackluster start is not doing us any good and this is a big opportunity for him to find his game. He needs to become a go-to guy, now that we're missing our second line. Playing with Z and Cleary will definitely give him some chances. Hopefully, for his sake, he can start finding the back of the net and be the goal scorer that he should be. If he doesn't get it going soon, then he needs to get demoted to the 3rd or 4th line so someone else can have a chance.

Since we've had a bunch of injuries, I thought we could play a fun little game (or maybe not so much fun) in which we speculate who gets put on LTIR next. Being that our injuries are comprised of forwards, with the exception of Lilja, it may be that a defeseman ges hurt next. My pick is Kronwall, since he seems due for a long term injury.

Holland doesn't make hasty moves, and I don't think anything will happen until the deadline. I could see him picking up someone off waivers and finding some one in the least expected place. This will be a roller coaster of a season though.

Lebda has been screwing up the most basic of passes lately. At times, there would be no pressure on him and he would miss a D to D pass compltely. It's been pretty ridiculous.

Wait...the wings are actually playing an originial six team in the eastern conference? The fact that there is not AT LEAST a home and home series between the original 6 teams is a travesty.

I've always heard people say this, but I've never seen or heard proof of this. Maybe he said he wouldn't play for the Wings several years ago, but things can change. The Avs/Wings rivalry is long gone, and hasn't existed for years now. Anyone that wouldn't want Forsberg is crazy. The guy can still play, and Holland wouldn't sign him if he didn't come at a good price. Sure, he's injury prone, but our team isn't in a great situation right now either. If he's willing to come play here at a fair price, then I'd definitely welcome him here.
