I like the idea, but it will never happen. People wouldn't be kicking their skates wildly. It doesn't make any sense. If you were trying to kick a puck in, then you have to turn your ankle sideways and slide it. Your foot would barely come off the ground. There's no way or reason people would be kicking like soccer players. Furthermore, players wouldn't be trying to kick the puck in. They would only do this if their stick was tied up. This slight kicking motion is no more dangerous to players than when they take strides.

I wasn't really expecting anything to happen today. Because of Lilja's uncertainty, I didn't think that Lebda or Meech would be on the block. Our roster is finally healthy and complete. If we can stay healthy then I like our chances. We won't know our future situation until after the season. Lidstrom, and Holmstrom will probably sign a 1 year deal, and Holland has expressed interest in bringing back Maltby for another season.

I've never seen hockey so hyped up here in the US. Everyone's talking about it, even people that don't pay attention to hockey. A win today would do more for USA hockey than any other... GO USA!!!

I think Lidstrom will sign a 1 year deal, then go play a year in Sweden, then retire. For some reason, I'm expecting him to play another season as a wing.

The St. Bernardus collection are all great mass-produced Belgian beers. Chimay, Duvel are both good. Westvleteren, though is the best. If any of you ever get your hands on this then you gotta get it. Though, I still think American micro-breweries make the best beer. Bells, Founders, Kuhnhen are all great local breweries.

Wow... Not to take anything away from Canada, but Russia is playing awful...This could be a 10-1 game.

Wow, this is less exciting than I thought it would be. That goal by Morrow, in my opinion, will be the one that seals the deal. Huge blow to the Russians. If it stays this way Canada will put up more goals against Russia then all of their other opponents. This actually could be a blow-out.

Everyone is mentioning the AO/Crosby matchup, but I think the Malkin/Crosby factor will be just as entertaining.

Wow this Czech-Latvia game is a good one. I still can't believe Olympic hockey elimination games can end in shootouts though, I think that's absurd.

This game will be determined by goaltending. If the goalies are even, then it will be Canada's defense vs. Russia offense. Which ever team has the hungrier guys pulls off this one. I personally think Canada will win this one, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the Russians take it. Anyways, this will be a hell of a showdown. Did anyone honestly expect one of these teams ending up with NO medal???

I'm glad Russia and Canada have to face off. That's one less contender that the US has to worry about. US has a favorable route to the medal round, relatively speaking. It's going to be great watching Sweden, Russia, and Canada (the 3 favorites) go at it.

Here's to a game that hopefully goes to OT. I think Finland will take this one...
