Shout out to TheSupafly! That was the best team effort since before those two debacles against Chicago. Newfie's the man. He's really provided a much needed spark since his return. Z hasn't been a standout yet his two games back, but it's no coincidence that Datsyuk has stepped it up since his return. And Taz--I've been saying that for all the kid brings to the table, he really needs to learn how to finish to be a complete player. He's gained a lot of confidence with the puck on this trip and man, does he look dangerous now. Way to go, kid. btw, everyone see the Wings' travel schedule coming off the West Coast swing? San Jose-->Long Island-->Detroit-->Dallas. Yah NHL.

Fair enough. I never understood what was wrong with calling a game a tie either, let alone why it was necessary to find an arbitrary way to break one.
-
+2. Though I'm not sure anyone here should be fans of the loser point. In the past it's only meant that other teams were artificially closer to the Wings than they would have been without it. But the Wings missing the playoffs because of it would be the final nail for sure.

zettie85's right. From rule 78.6: Edit: Which means you're right too, harold

Except it can't possibly lead to more goals, only less goals by making it impossible to score a goal for part of a game.
-
Absolutely. People keep talking about the few games in October when the Wings were healthy and looked terrible, as if games in October ever mean anything. But if the Wings can stay in the hunt and get healthy, and they've learned to backcheck and penalty kill for the first time in two seasons, they'll be dangerous.
-
Imagine this happening at the end of a game--game's tied 2-2, clock runs out, and then there's a review before OT and they find out there was a goal scored two or three minutes ago (assuming no stoppage in play in between). So the game's over, 3-2. Bettman rules.

Until he/she banned you.

That was Jedi announcing it in the GDT.

Man, the Red Wings *suck* in LA without me. I'm headed back stat.
-
Yeah, he did the shutout thing, but that's more cheering for your team, which sports announcers do all the time. But both of the announcers are unbiased in their analysis. But that voice thing is annoying. You should hear the Ducks radio play-by-play guy...
-
What are you talking about? They're a pretty straight up crew. Jim Fox, the color guy, ain particular ways calls it as he sees it. They're nowhere near the homers most other teams' crews are.

The least deserved 2 pts in Red Wings history. We've seen the Wings lose this type of game countless times in the fast. We finally get one our way.

Oh that friggin hurts if you're a Kings fan.

I think Howard gets all three stars tonight, regardless of the outcome.

Swing and a miss!

The refs just broke up Abdelkader's attempt at his second NHL fight

Math fail. Do you work for Verizon?

Whatever. It took him 19:59.8 to have an impact. Slacker.
-
Is that a word? He has looked rather pussiesque tonight.

C'mon boys, you got this one!

This is an epic amount of s***-slinging over the World Juniors. yankscanucksquébécoissuck!

And to be fair, it would have made a lot more of a difference if the Wings weren't already losing by 2 with a few minutes to play.
