And Edwin Jackson follows it up with one of his own! Great to see the Tigers get to Carmona and Betancourt as well--two of their nemeses the past couple years.

nah. Zetterberg. In that scrum at the end of game 3 Z told him. "Hey tell Perry he's gonna get it. You better tell him. Hey Ryan you better tell him. You're gonna get it too." It's clearly on the video. Getzlaf was waiting for the hammer to fall all game. By the third period he was too sick to his stomach to play.

Which translates to a GameCenter blackout if you're me.

Exactly. In 1996, the Wings came off their first Cup final in ages and a record-setting regular season. The Avs just owned them that playoff series, and Le Turtle smashed Drapers face for good measure. Detroit couldn't figure them out for the first three regular season games the next year. Anaheim's a good rivalry, they've got some great players, and their style is pretty effective against the Wings, but I've never felt that if the Wings play their best they won't win.

Ponda OWNED . Thanks for posting this.

Things were fine again tonight on my end. One guy behind me seemed to think chants involving "Detroit" and "poverty" were funny, but the rest of the section to their credit told him to kindly STFU. He didn't come back for the third anyway. There was one pretty nasty fight in the corner below me towards the end of the game, not cool. From what I saw, Wings fans celebrated without rubbing it in, and Ducks fans weren't angry or mean tonight after the loss. Again, though, my playoff beard is pretty badass. You don't mess with the TMI Hope everyone had a safe and fun time tonight.
-
Normally, yes. But not with a 2-goal lead in the third. No need to give them momentum. Bad fight by Kopecky.
-
Yes, we are awesome. Anaheim fans=sad. RWNW=happy.
-
Yesh.

Just got back from the game. RWNW brought it tonight, and so did the Wings! My brother said we were heard loud and clear on TV. Franzen and Hossa were full of awesome tonight. Great to crack Hiller. His five-hole looks soft, and the Wings need to keep firing there and blocker side, where Sammy beat him. Just keep getting traffic in front of him and avoid his glove side. Go Wings!

RWNW Represent! Off to the Ponda soon. Go Wings!

Nice. The posters here are from all over North America and around the world. But now you're gonna make a generalization and insult people in Detroit because of what they say.

Why would anyone want Rafalski back? Certainly his absence has nothing to do with the Wings' trouble moving the puck out of their own zone. It certainly has nothing to do with the PP looking lost at times with Stuart and Ericsson on the point in his place. Look, Ericsson's filled in admirably, but his lack of experience has been exploited at times this series. The Wings are a much better team with Rafalski in the top pairing and Ericsson playing with Lebda (or preferably Lilja) on the third pairing.

I think Homer did mean to throw an elbow. He was being hooked by Niedermayer, felt Wisniewski make contact from behind and to the side, and he threw an elbow to get away. This happens many times during a game when battling for position in front of the net (along with crosschecks and holds that also don't get called). But Holmstrom wasn't trying to elbow an injured player in the face. He wasn't even looking at Wisniewski when he threw the elbow. Wisniewski was haunched over because he was hurt, so an elbow that would have normally caught him in the chest caught him in the face instead. But if you think Homer's thought process was "Wisniewski's lungs are bleeding! I'm gonna elbow him in the face now!", well, that's pretty callow.

I said he's supposed to be a professional, I didn't specify at what. I'm bitter now. Look out Ducks.
-
That picture doesn't do justice to my playoff beard. This guy is a professional? What kind of lighting job is that?

Hockeytown_Ryan, I'm not going to quote your previous post, but . Hockey fans are hockey fans, jerks are jerks. Doesn't matter if you count yourself a Wings fan, a Ducks fan, or whatever--there are both on every side. It's the harassment and violence that's unacceptable, not the allegiance of the people who perpetrate it. But no one should make sweeping generalizations about an entire fan base, city, or ethnicity, and I'm glad you get that.
