Outstanding period. Let's see about 10 more of them.
-
Yeah. They're both pretty talented players. Perry can be dirty, but he's not the selfish idiot Avery can be, which is why he is a much more consistently effective player.
-
I like what I see here--if the Wings play one of these teams, you can tell from this game that either is prone to losing their cool when the chips are down. The Wings may take the odd bad penalty, but not 4 in a period.
-
Corey Perry is like Sean Avery, only he doesn't cross the line nearly as often.
-
Geez, do the Ducks even want to try to win this game? Or are they going to just take stupid penalties the whole game? Even a Sharks team with the weight of the world on their shoulders is going to win if the Ducks play with 4 men the whole way.
-
San Jose's consistently a fast starter the first 10 min in the playoffs. It's the last 50 min that tend to be the problem. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
-
Beauchemin heading down the tunnel. I don't like to see players hurt, but these teams beating up on each other is exactly why we want this series to go as deep as possible. Duck parade to the box so far.

:chug: this is shaping up to be a good one!
-
HOLY s***! GETZLAF AND THORTON RIGHT OFF THE DRAW!!!
-
Also, that Josh Anderson kid I've been raving about gets some love in the Free Press today. He's certainly been a difference maker so far.
-
Exactly. I feel so vindicated in him right now. I've had to defend the guy so many times--I still did this weekend in Anaheim. He's the Tigers' best third baseman by far, and if he keeps hitting anything like this the rest of the way and gives the team production from the bottom of the order, this team is going to be a lot more consistent on both sides than they were last season.
-
I'm a bit late, but anyone looking for a stream can find them here and here.
-
This game's pretty much looked like how I thought the entire series was going to.l
-
fair enough, but I don't think that an extra couple days rest for Vancouver will make a difference when both teams will have over a week off. But if the Wings play the Ducks in the next round, it's to their benefit to have this series go as long as possible. Same thing if the Sharks somehow pull this off and the Wings meet them in the WCF.
-
lol. well, it's a bit disappointing when you tune in for a train wreck and don't quite get it, but it's better for the Wings to have this series go as deep as possible, regardless who wins.
-
I think it would be a lot of fun to see the Hawks in the WCF. It would be great to see that rivalry really renewed. As for the next round? Luongo is a lot more rested at this point of the year than he's been in the past, which makes him scary. And the Canucks have good depth up front. The Duckies have a goalie playing great, a great back end, and have a great first line + Selanne. Neither's a cakewalk. But let's be honest--if the Wings can't beat either of those teams, they're not going far anyway.
-
Man, to be a fly on the wall in the Sharks' dressing room right now. What do you all think? Utter silence?
-
Oh, they care at this point alright. It's the weight of expectations that's making them freeze up. They're lucky to get to OT.
-
For sure. The Sharks are folding like a house of cards now. This should be a good finish.
-
I agree. The Sharkies are really squeezing their sticks hard. Yeah, Hiller made a nice save there, but that still shoulda been a goal.
-
Just because they can play doesn't mean they're completely healthy and wouldn't benefit from an extra few days of rest. I agree Lilja's probably out for the season at this point. But I doubt they sit a player of Draper's experience and defensive ability if he can go.
-
lol that was quicker than I thought. Sharks are done.
-
lol nice use of the camera in the net once it was knocked off its moorings there.
