"The Peins in our hand"? Are you making a metallurgy joke or something?

Flyers, Hawks, Duckies.

Those last two games were hideous. The Tigers are starting to look like last year's team. Hopefully they'll turn it around tonight. Edit: Ok, I feel better about last night's game after reading that the Tigers got in at 7am and then faced a lights-out Greinke. Also, Zoom-Zoom's back tonight! *crosses fingers*

Those 4 fewer PP opportunities they'll have with Avery out will surely help them
-
It would certainly help compensate for the lack of a late game today.
-
I really, really like this Caps team. Unfortunately, they just don't have the same spunk as a front runner they had last year as an underdog. Rangers shock everyone, especially me who gave them no chance in this series, and close it out tonight.

In years past I thought Grier ought to be captain, but even he's been a bit quiet this playoff. Maybe Clowe? A captain doesn't have to be a superstar. Either way, I don't think the Sharks can have Marleau and Thorton wearing a C and an A for another year--Marleau certainly can't be captain, and at least one of them should be moved to shake up the roster. But the team won the President's Trophy--it's absurd that some people are talking about a teardown.

WCQF GAME 4 GDT: Red Wings 6 at Blue Jackets 5

Ok so I'm the only one seeing these games since you are all on the east coast. 12-10 and a whole lot of ugly tonight, but also some great persistence by the Tigers. Raburn had an uncharacteristically bad game, and JV just doesn't look like himself--he just can't get guys out with 2 strikes. But everyone else made things happen. I'm still high on this Josh Anderson kid so far: he's hitting well, a good bunter, and speedy as hell.

Wow MacK--it's a rare thread that has you having Canucks fans' backs You're spot on, though. The comments section is pretty hilarious too. -

Finish them! -
I think the Hawks have lost their focus a bit and lose tonight. Caps have gotten over their jitters since going on the road and win again. Bruins win by forfeit.

PS 2009 Round 1 Photoshop War: Columbus Blue Jackets

I'm sure everyone thought this and is just too mature to post this, but I can never resist a good pun: Edit: props to A2Y for inspiration, btw- 687 replies

So I was at the game last night. The Angels team, even with their rough start, are frustrating like no other. Galarraga started well but Anaheim kept fouling off balls and running up his pitch count, and eventually they succeeded in getting him off his game. Weaver is always an enigma to me--the Tigers always seem to hit him hard with little to show for it. Lots of missed opportunities tonight, especially late. I'll be at tonight's game as well. Hopefully JV gets it turned around.

RJ's a good young hockey player, but he needs to learn to get his head up or he's gonna have a short career, which no one wants to see.

Calgary upset about goon tactics--err, 'sending a message'--at the end of a game? Ah, irony.
-
Really Seabrook? You're just gonna take that?
-
This will be a good experience for the Hawks--they've absolutely wilted under the Flames' pressure this period. It might even allow the Flames to survive all the idiot penalties they're taking.
-
huh. there was the missing urgency.
-
Flames haven't exhibited the same urgency they usually do at home in the playoffs. They're winning and I'd like to see them extend the series, but somehow I feel the Hawks are coming back.
-
Seriously. The only thing more surprising than the Sharks getting swept out of the first round would be the Habs not getting swept out of the first round.

I don't think anyone would notice if he suited up for the Rags in round two, would they?
