That was a fun game to be at. The second half of the first period wasn't so good and the Wings looked a bit uninspired the first part of the third, but two points on the road on a long trip are always a good thing. Getzlaf really impressed me tonight. He's getting better every year. Kronners had a very solid game as well.

See if someone can get a still from FSN Detroit and post it! Sorry I missed you tonight
-
Thanks, that was all me. At least the booing Chrissy part.

Williams was injured during the 06-07 season and never was the same when he came back. I like him and wish him nothing but the best, but the Wings couldn't justify his roster position when younger, more promising players like Flip and Huddler needed ice time to develop. Yes, Calder was a bust, but the trade really didn't hurt the Wings either. Edit: clarity

The Ducks' third uniform was even worse when you added names and numbers. The announcers couldn't even read them from the press box.
-
I should add that what the league has done in the past has helped--the tie-down rule eliminated the Rob Ray striptease and helps reduce the risk of injury by keeping someone being dangerously thrown around with a sweater over their head. But a mandatory helmet on rule for fights seems ill conceived.
-
Getting punched in the face while wearing a visor can end up poorly too--it's not likely, but if your helmet slips the wrong way you can end up with a broken nose. And as Dano33 says, helmets in general shred knuckles. Look, what happened was tragic and sad, but you can't remove every risk or prevent every fluke accident in a game like hockey.

I'll be at this one too! The Wings actually played a pretty good game against the Ducks in October but the game got away from them. Hey Pronger--remember, eye gouging is still frowned upon... Go Wings!

hey all, we'll be there (not sure where--I wasn't responsible for getting the tickets to this one!) Hotel Fig isn't a bad spot--kinda cool Mediterranean outdoor bar and real close to the rink. maybe we'll see you there! -

Great work by Mule, and then awesome screen by Dats. Way to wire it Nick!
-
The Flames blew a two-goal third period lead, but they still can do no wrong for these TSN guys.
-
Nice work Drapes
-
To be fair, when Mick says this it's a euphemism for crappy call. no, no, say it again. there's still time to tie this!
-
um...still going to bed?
-
Dats has been talking lessons on open ice hitting from Kronners
-
Wow. Mule, 2 min for avoiding taking a puck to the face.
-
You mean Ford as in slightly more sound than the other two, but still not good enough? Let's stick with '4rd', eh?
-
We've been hearing all night about how tired Calgary ought to be at this point. Let's take advantage of it, Wings!
-
IIRC, 'Roy' is French for inherent dick. So is there a rule? No. But it would just be silly not to be one with that name.
-
Hey, everyone wanted Babs to switch the lines around lol
-
Yes, David Moss, you've played at the Joe in college, so you should clearly not take that penalty. ok McGuire...
-
The Wings were completely outworked in every facet of the game that period. If that keeps up for two more, this ain't gonna be pretty. Which might not be a bad thing for this team right now.
-
ok, so it's December and I'm still weirded out by the 'Hockey Night' theme being on TSN...

That fight was right in front of me! Cleary will be ready Chrissy's eye-clawing routine this time and will take him out See you at the game Ducky? Have fun! Go Wings!
