On NBC's website, they've got a pretty cool selection from the isocam on Franzen from game 2. I really like the view it shows of his second goal. He shakes off 3 Avs like it's nothing, walks out in front of the net, and beats Theo with an absolutely brilliant backhand to the top corner. Check it out, because it quite possibly will be the only cool thing ever on the NBC website.

lol I almost got my wish of Avery v. Laraque there. The goal was disallowed because the referee behind the net lost sight of the puck and assumed Fleury had it covered, when in reality it was in the process of rolling between his legs and into the net.

Big chance for the Rangers here with this PP. With only 2:20 left, they'll get a chance to skate 6-4 in the second half of the PP. They absolutely have to bury one here.

Fail by the referee there. He's behind the net in position to see that, and Fleury's never got control of the puck there.

That was a miserable looking PP for the Rags there. Avery needs to start dancing Bee-Gees style in front of Fleury.

You're right, on one hand, KP. But the Rangers' defence is much improved over last year. Watching the series last year against the Sabres, the Rangers' defence looked perpetually slow and out of position. I'm not seeing the same thing so far this year.

I'm fairly indifferent in both games, so I just hope they're both good games. I have two wishes for the early game: 1.) Go Shanny! I hope he has a good game. 2.) It will never happen, but I'd love to see Laraque v. Avery.

Thanks for posting that OsGod, and yes, keep them coming! Man the Avs bench looked absolutely demoralized there. But I still expect them to come out with a much better effort in game 3 on home ice.

versus Game 2, 7PM ET, CBC and Vs. Canadiens lead series 1-0 The Habs stunned the Flyers with a late goal in regulation to tie and quick OT goal to win in game 1. The Flyers look to even the seires headinging back to Philly. I'm not been impressed by either team so far these playoffs, but one of them's gotta win. I'm picking the Flyers tonight.

Out of curiosity, did Grapes have anything meaningful to say in the first intermission about Wings-Avs (or is he still diappointed in them and thinks both teams are afraid to hit each other like the Wings-Preds series, etc.)?

As I said up top I haven't been too impressed with either team so far, but it's pretty clear right now that the Flyers are the better team. The Habs will be lucky to get to Philly with this series at 1-1. I'm not writing off the Habs in this game, but I haven't seen a lot to suggest they'll come back in this one. Biron is absolutely on top of his game right now. He was in complete control on that breakaway, and he made a real nice save there at the end of the period.

I guess it doesn't matter too much to me who wins. I'd like to see the Rangers advance purely because of Shanny. I've always hated the Flyers, so since I don't have to put up with Habs fans like OWF I would like to the Habs advance. Especially since a Habs-Rangers ECF would guarantee the Wings an Original Six opponent should they make the Cup Finals.

Crap. I though Milbury was the smart one, but he just got on the McGuire train: he just claimed Floppa would be the difference between the Avs getting outscored 9-4 in two games and this being a close series. No, the difference will be if the Wings play the same game in Colorado.
