I think we can all agree on this: The Avs should be a lot more worried about Ozzie's confidence at this point than the Wings should be about Budaj's.

lol I just caused a s*** strom for suggesting it wouldn't be a bad idea for the Wings to get 1 on him before heading back to Budaj. But since they got their 1, no, not worried, and couldn't be more satisfied.

Crap. I forgot that the 2008 version of Mario Lemieux AND Wayne Gretzky is out of the lineup today. The Wings are screwed if he comes back in game 3. That will make the entire difference in the series.

No, I basically agree. Hopefully you know at this point that I'm not one of the pessimists on the board. And I said the same thing earlier: if the Wings play their system, they Avs can't hang. And Mule just got the hatty, so mission accomplished either way. Brilliant game Red Wings!

If anyone's flipping out about this game, you two are absolutely right: they need to chill out. What I'm worried about is momentum going into game 3. The Wings are fine right now, with or without a goal. But I don't see anything unreasonable about wanting to limit the positives that Colorado can take home heading into game 3.

Again, I'm beyond satisfied with the Wings' effort this game. I'm ecstatic. But it's never too early to start thinking about game 3--the Avs are now--and Budaj will be the starter.

No, I agree. But I'm just concerned that the Avs will start thinking Budaj is invincible if the Wings don't get one past him. And again, I think the Wings have played amazingly well, and I don't want to embarrass the Avs either.

Exactly. There's no need to embarass the Avs, but the Wings should have gotten at least one past Budaj there just so he doesn't start thinking he's unbeatable. He's gonna start game 3, after all.

The response here from the Avs shows that they're frustrated because they know that when the Wings play their system the Avs cannot hang. Wings, take note, keep playing your game the rest of the series. It won't continue to be this easy, but you will be fine if you do.

Seriously, there's no need to fight if you are up 4-0, even if you are challenged. Take the challenge another time. McCormick was doing the only thing that could give the Avs at this point. No need to engage him. But again, Cody ruined it next shift.
