I think that Rafi's much more effective when he's got someone in the slot to deflect the shot-pass like Parise (hint hint Red Wings)
-
Is this racist? j/k
-
*sigh* so the s*** slinging's beginning before this game's (officially) over and the puck has even dropped on the other semifinal game? I agree the Canada's gotten stronger as the tournament has gone like they did in Salt Lake, while the US has been the most consistently good team in the tournament, like they did in Salt Lake. But all the pressure is on Canada their next two games, while the US has nothing to lose.
-
Maybe Ron Wilson *wasn't* the problem in San Jose...
-
This is a hell of a response to Canada's game against Russia.
-
This score is looking like some of the women's hockey games.
-
Not true. There was quite a gap between the 4th and 5th goals
-
The US is so persistent. They don't look anything like a Ron Wilson team. What a good showing for this team. No one expected anything out of them, but they've played hard every game and have deserved each win. Now no matter what they get to play for a medal.
-
C'mon Ryan, bury the puck. You're supposed to know Hiller's weaknesses.
-
US is playing with desperation on both ends. They need another goal for insurance, though.
-
Finally! Hiller helps juggle one into the net w/ time on the clock.
-
Of course, during the Miracle on Ice the USSR weren't amateurs. But neither are the Swiss today.

Filet 'O Fish!!!

True. It's Omega
-
****** Canoe: I don't want to hear about you rimming any more.
-
Langenbrunner and Parise have been our most dangerous forwards by quite a bit.
-
I was just going to comment how it seems like the Swiss are everywhere on the ice. Turns out they shoulda been called for too many men
-
US isn't driving the net nearly as well here as in the first game against the Swiss.
-
Cheers, NFM. Make this PP count!
-
Looks like a Wings-Ducks game. Wings dominate on the shot board but Hiller keeping his team in the game
-
Ah. Thanks NFM. For those whose Silverlight player is jerky but have Stream Torrent, there's a similarly crappy but smoother feed here.
-
Really? It looks hideous for me.

I stated my opinion about him in the 'Johnny Damon - Wings Fan' thread. I don't see him as an upgrade defensively or offensively over Guillen in left, and hopefully he's not playing center (not that the Tigers have a legitimate CF at this point). But he is a left handed bat, and at least it's only a one-year deal and not two like had been floated. Like Shaman says, the Tigers are just trying to tread water this year in a weak division. Let's just hope they spend money much wiser this time around.

2010 Winter Olympics - Canada vs United States (Group A)
Third Man In replied to redwings8831's topic in General
If there's a fatal flaw, it's putting Thorton and Marleau on the roster. The US did earn that one, but it's only one game. Canada didn't even hit their stride until the semi-finals in 2002. -
I liked Damon when he was a Red Sock, before he sold his soul, cut his hair, and signed with the *Yankees*. Imagine, I dunno, Chris Osgood signing with the Avs. His power numbers won't look good when he no longer plays in a ballpark with a little league fence in right field, but his arm's sure gonna look even more little league in Comerica's outfield. And at $14M over two years, well, that's a quarter million less than Granderson. (And that trade was a salary dump, no matter how Dombrowski spins it.) And, there's this: Damon might sign with Detroit if he has no other offers. Why the Tigers want him after trading Granderson I have no idea.
