I don't think anyone here's losing sight of the ultimate goal. Remember what kepts us from it last year (besides the Ducks)? It wasn't lack of forward scoring or presence--we lost two defencemen to injury. Losing Schneids and Kronner was much worse than the injuries to Calder and Bert. I don't see how trading a defenceman will get us the Cup.

NBC needs to get Pierre Maguire away from rinkside. Looks like he took one too many stray sticks to the head, eh? Let's see: a young, inexpensive, hard-hitting, solid defenceman with good hands and still a lot of upside in exchange for a rental player that doesn't fit an obvious need. I love Sundin, but this trade will not happen. The only trades I see Holland making, baring injury, is either a player or two to fill out the third and fourth lines or a depth defenceman.

Good game! Wings weren't dominant, but they played everyone, were solid defensively, rested Cheli, and hopefully left some in the tank for a tougher opponent tomorrow night. Stuart gets a star for what? Cleary looked like he was gonna kill him if he got the chance. Stuart wouldn't go with him.

I think you're right--Z must still be suffering from lingering effects of the flu. It takes a while to go from that to playing hockey at a high level. Or both Dats and Flip, as someone geniously suggested above

The team's moving their feet a lot better this game.

I don't know how the rest of you feel, but I think Cleary's playing too well to be on a checking line. I understand playing him with Drapes and Malts makes that line more of a threat to score, but Clear, Flip, and Dats are magic together.
