Don't encourage Bettman
-
Chalk the blown lead up to rust and dead legs after 5 days off. Good win, lads!
-
Babs should throw out Rafalski just to spite Schneider Edit: spelling
-
Aarg! I hate shootouts
-
Hey! Why not stick w/ the hot PP line?
-
Do this thing!
-
I blame Bettman for that goal. No worries. LGRW! LGRW! LGRW!
-
Everybody chant: Ozzie! Ozzie! Ozzie! Edit: Damn.

The network's called Bettman TV

It's already 5-1 Wings in the game I'm imagining
-
Come on, guys. The game can't be as great as you are making it sound. Nothing could possibly be that cool. I'm sure the game in my imagination is much better than the one the rest of you are able to actually watch.

Thanks, puckloo. I just got off the phone with Center Ice Online and the tech said he's very sorry and they're getting bombarded with calls and they don't know why the game's blacked out and maybe one of the local affiliates pulled out of the game at the last minute and blah blah blah... Let's follow puckloo's advice and email the Wings about this. How sick are we all of the Wings being used to sell hockey at the detriment of the Wings and their fan base?

Try yer luck here: 1-866-997-0929 (for Center Ice Online)

Woe, too, is the life in Southern California. First wildfires, now no Red Wings? Bad things come in threes--what could be next? Governor Conan the Barbarian?

hockey...hockey...

Questioning his priorities may be going a bit too far. Consider things from his perspective: playing hockey is what he loves to do. He has a near fatal incident during a game, and then as the article says, he suffers "two more heart attacks while resting at home over the following two weeks." So it isn't necessarily clear that what happened has anything to do with his playing hockey. It may or may not ever recurr regardless of whether he plays hockey again. If you're living with a Sword of Damocles over your head, isn't it worth doing what you love rather than sitting on the couch all day? That being said, I agree that it's best for both parties if he doesn't play for the Red Wings again--it's simply not worth the risk. But if he plays hockey again is between Jiri, his family, and his doctors.

Hehe, The Calgary Sun had Nolan at number two! Apparently, the fact that "Basically, he did everything expected but score" merits more than the fact that Z, the third star, "didn't get many chances but buried two of them." http://calsun.canoe.ca/Sports/Hockey/Flame...625123-sun.html Maybe Z would rate higher if he took shooting lessons from David Moss.

Is this not the longest goalie fight ever going on in the background?
-
E) Good to see Dano get one too! He's created a lot more than his point total shows.
-
Sheesh! They talked about leaving it all on the ice tonight with the five day layoff coming up, but I didn't realize they meant in the second period. Way to come back with the PP goal. And everyone see Homer go down to block a shot with 2:30 left in a 4-1 game? Ozzie played tonight like Kipper usually plays against us. Good stuff!

Aren't these threads getting old? They're pretentious. Until Red Wings fans start filling the Joe again (and I understand there are all sorts of reasons why this isn't happening), we shouldn't talk too much about other fans' shortcomings. I've been to many games at the Ponda Center, as well as Staples and the Shark Tank, and I agree that the fans in Anaheim are the least knowledgable of the three--but they're also the newest, and they'll get better. There are also some very knowledgable fans there. Kings fans are more knowledgable overall but are also (understandably) more bitter--you hear many more "[insert opponent's name here] suck" chants than "Lets go Kings" chants. Sharks fans are the most enthusiastic and overall the most knowledgable.

I meant Lilja. Long day. It seemed as though he got a penalty more because the other player got caught in an awkward position.
-
So anyone in here who still wants to talk hockey--did anyone get a good look at a replay of the Franzen hit? It looked pretty clean in real time.

You and your like of competitive games

How can you say this? What about Ozzie in 2001 and Cujo in 2003? Both instances of teams and goalies sucking equally. But that doesn't make them bad keepers.
