Zetterberg's dump resulted in a breakout for Pittsburgh, and a Datsyuk pass in front of the net did too. Filppula isn't a god.

I wonder if Burke will end up trading for Getzlaf, Perry and Niedermayer.

I'm pretty sure he means exactly what he just said. The wings aren't playing their best hockey and have some issues they need to work out. Pittsburgh is one of the best teams in the league and it should be a hard game for the wings.

Since filppula's return he has been our best forward. He plays hard every night, is excellent defensively and has been contributing to the scoreboard. Since his return he and Datsyuk have the same point totals (and this is after Filppula has missed two months, nearly an entire offseason while Datsyuk was playing the entire time), with Datsyuk having better linemates and more ice time. Datsyuk, while obviously has the skill to put up the points but just never looks into it. So I ask this question. Obviously Filppula is not better than Datsyuk but he has damn well been playing better than him. In a teams that claims to reward hard work, I think filppula deserves Datsyuk's ice time more than he does.

I'm obliged to say that Hasek and Osgood had nearly identical stats that year.

Well he can't be the best player every night, so I'll just settle for most.

I think Ericsson tries to make a hard play too much, he just needs to do the simple plays down low in our zone.

And he was playing with that Mastermind filppula. Come to think of it, Filppula got Cleary a goal in his first game back too.

Especially if we trade for a third line center and keep Helm Draper and Eaves together. And I think my job is here. I know you're reading, so well done Pav. And it's safe to say that I don't think this anymore, even the next game after I made this he looked 100% better.

Agree 100%. This is exactly what I mean when I say it's not a coincidence.

As much as I want to see either Bert or Cleary play with Z and Pav, I think for the team it's best to have Homer in there. It's a sad state of affairs but no one still has more goals than him, so it's not like he's going to be a detriment to the line and I just think he'd be out of place on the bottom 2 lines. Z and Pav carry him, but they're good enough to carry him to make his place on the first line worthwhile. And I think that Williams is seriously underrated here. He hasn't palyed that many games but in those he has he looks good. It's unfortunate for him since Homer getting back will push him down to the third line and I think he would have done well on Flip's wing on the second line. But he definitely deserves his place on the third line.

Actually when I saw your post I wasn't surprised at all. I've noticed that you have seem to come around a bit in your thinking of Filppula lately versus the start of the season, so high five. And following this pace of conversion by the end of next season Filppula will probably be gcom's favorite player.

Haha gcom, I don't mean YOU personally make people criticize him, I mean that sometimes other people do criticize him on this site. But you're right 100% about his goal scoring. Despite his point totals, 4 goals in 28 games is pretty bad. I hope he can ramp it up in that department towards the end of the season and into the playoffs. I know he has the tools to.
