Hudler got taken off the 2nd line because of how many times he could have shot but didn't, guaranteed. Not like Cleary will be any better though. -

Believe me. Getzlaf is a much better player than Franzen. Aside from his scrappy play.

Getzlaf is one of my favorite non-wings, but we probably w/couldn't make an even trade for him. Bobby Ryan seems possible though, and would be an awesome addition.

I'm not saying it's a realistic trade. I'm only saying when I think it'd be worth it. Isn't 800 years old. Played at a 60 point pace last season on a s***ty team. Currently about on pace with Bertuzzi while most likely not playing with Datsyuk. And while I'm not an expert on Jokinen, it'd be hard to be lazier and take more stupid penalties than Bertuzzi.

I wouldn't mind Jokinen but I don't think we need another borderline top 6 player. If we could get rid of Bertuzzi for him it might be worth it. A trade for Gleason AND Jokinen might be worth it. Though I haven't seen them play much at all so it's hard to give a solid opinion.

What does Hudler have anything to do with this? It's funny how you come up with these worthless comments when I say something about Filppula. You're really perturbed that he's been our best forward behind Datsyuk, aren't you? And likely that I was right about him, furthermore.

I'm wondering what gcom and Drake have to say about Filppula this year versus what they've said in the past. He's on pace for a 70 point season, like I've always said he's capable of, with no signs of slowing down. And he's been outscoring Franzen too lately, who plays with Datsyuk.

If Cleary weren't such a horrible player, Filppula would have had 4 points. FML.

Um, of his last 24 playoff games, Franzen has scored in 5 of them. Like GMR said, Franzen has an incredible shot, one of the best in the league. But that is literally all he has. It's okay if he is a streaky goal scorer if he does other things than score goals, but he doesn't.

Heh, he's the only forward without one. He's cooled off a bit lately. You can tell he's trying, but he isn't really making plays. I'm sure things will be back to normal soon.

My biggest problem with the realignment is how freaking boring our conference/division still is.

The Wings have motivation problems, that's it. That's all it is. We didn't win in 2008 because Downey was on our roster, we won because every single player on the wings was desperate for a Stanley Cup. The old cliche is true, whatever team wants it more gets it. The Penguins weren't necessarily a better team than us (and the same goes the opposite), they just wanted it a little more.

Name a team that has more extremes than us. When they look good they look incredible but when they're off, god they are horrible. Why does this team have such a huge motivational problem. Maybe players do just feel too safe.

I love the 4 division/conference thing, but the Wings not being in the East is bulls***. I guess they want a big name team in the West. Lame. Let some other teams shine in the West.
