I agree completely. I feel the exact same way you do and I'm just as hollowed out as anyone on this board. It's sad to say this, but I wonder if these low-level guys who had a good run in the NHL but didn't make quite enough to retire on feel hopeless and like they have nothing else to do but end their life. Unless there is some sort of pension I'm not aware of, which there should be. But either way, haven't there been a few suicides lately?

Parise is a bonafide star. Who will we trade for him without selling the proverbial farm? We can just wait and get him in the off season.

Sorry but, lol @ Helm. After Pav and Z it'll be one of these two. I remember Fil sporting the A in the preseason last season, so he's definitely high on the list. It likely goes: Pav/Z Kronner Filppula Cleary Stuart However, I don't envision Babcock rotating a third A at all. It'll be Nick as the Captain (duh) and then Pav and Z will have the A's, unless they're injured.

Not really sure why this is getting neg'd so much. Draper has always been great but at this point he is baggage and is just taking up a roster spot. He's had a good career, but it's time for him to go. Let the younger kids step up.

Simply not true. Flip has the talent and ability to dominate games, we've seen it this past season and any rational person will tell you so. Flip's problem is motivation and lack of killer instinct. He may not have the shot Hudler has, but he's got everything else and then some. And I won't say not to derail because if I really meant it I wouldn't post this.

17 of Hudler's points came from playing with Zetterberg or Datsyuk. (12 Datsyuk). And since you want to bring Filppula in to this, Filppula had 3 points playing with Datsyuk or Zetterberg. I wonder how Filppula would have done if he got the same icetime with Pav or Z.

I'd give him a C+/B-. He hasn't done horrible, but he didn't do anything great. I would have really loved to sign a second line forward, and despite the weak FA this summer, there were a few options. I'd still like to package Hudler and get a solid 1st/2nd line forward.

Glad he was here, glad he is retiring. Once you're out a long time with groin injuries, you know it's time to retire.
