On this page, look all the way up to the top right of the page. See where it says 0 (1 or whatever) new messages. Same place on HF page. Knowing what i did to get 3 infractions, I'll wager you got at least 5. Hurry up I want to know before I go to bed, and my woman is waiting for me.
-
So, how many infractions did you end up with? I only had 5 posts, replies to their rips on you and another Wings fan, and I recieved 3 infraction that will limit my access to the board. I had to reply to this weiner. He was ripping on someone's avatar showing a Hossa Wings jersey with #18 on it. He says: "You might wanna correct your pic in your profile, Hossa wears 81, not 18, I guess this is what happens with your Detroit Edumucation and a face that only a mama would consider loving on your best day!" So I had to reply----"What number was he wearing when he knocked you out of the playoffs last year?" That got me a 5 point infraction. WTF? They locked the thread. Plenty of good fans over there are embarressed by the winning weiner fans.

My buddy played against him his first game back from that suspension. G. B. The cover of the game program was a picture of Kocur, Proby and and third Red Wing who I can't think of at the moment, all without shirts on, muscles flexing looking menacing. The caption read something like "700lbs of Beef" or something. At the openning faceoff, G. B. said to Probert "Hey, shoudn't the game program have said 700lbs and 12 grams! (the coke he got busted with previously) and the gloves went off right then and there at the openning face off. He said Proby was the worst guy in the NHL to fight, and when he was on the smack he'd never get tired.

Malts is consistent. He does the little things you need done on the 3rd and 4rth lines that contribute to victories. He doesn't really have bad games. I would take old age experience, treachery and deceat, any day over youth, skill and enthusiasm. In short, Old Guys Rule. Edit: I do think we have not filled the void left by Dallas Drake. Nobody has stepped up to fill the Monster Hit category. He hit like a Termintator.
-
Yes, I agree. His experience is huge. Yes, we have a logjam, but I thought the 1-10 run while the youngsters were filling in for the injured verterans, would have quelled that chant for a while. Long live the Grind Line!

I had to post 4 times before I finally got on, they kept deleting my posts because I basically mulit quoted page 19 and posted a crying smilie. Edit, OK maybe my first couple of posts over there were a little harsh for some fans who just lost an exciting back and forth game. Dear T Low, You have received a warning at HFBoards. I take joy in knowing that Detroit is in a ******** of trouble if they're gonna rely on refs winning the game for them in the future. Go across the hall into their bedrooms and they will tell that no matter how much you cry about a few calls here and there, it all averages out and while the Rangers are looking much better this season, the Wings are a bit complacent with their Stanley Cup last year and are playing poorly, the WIngs are still definitely the better team. Maybe you all should cheer up, and maybe count your number of friends on your Myspace page again. A Ranger was too lazy to get his arse off the ice and out his team on PK, wich they couldn't handle. Most of the calls in the game were ridiculous; all the touch hooks etc. The Rangers couldn't stop little Juri Hudler on the power play goal, then Datsyuk stepped in with a steal from Gomey. Then the Rnagers couldn't stop Datsyuk as he retreived his own dump in, then the Rangers couldn't stop him as he played keep away for a few seconds. Then the Rangers couldn't stop Marian Hossa as he headed..uh..to the net, like that was a suprise to everyone. Seems to me the Rangers just couldn't stop the Wings thats all. Too often they look complacent and like they are pacing themselves for a long season. I don't believe a team can successfully pace itself. Its not something that can be just turned on right before the playoffs. Yes they can continue to gain momentum, with a fes peaks and valleys, but overall they've got to turn it up. Hopefully tonite Hossa and Huds lighting the lamp will get things going. Phyew.

I had to sit thru the whole game watching that stupid New York feed on JustinTV listenning to that guy saying that Gomez is out playing Datrsyuk all night long. Then Datsyuk steals a Gomez pass that starts off the game winner, as he dumps and chases his own puck, then plays keep away along the boards and hits a streaking Marian Hossa for the G Winner! Even then, it takes 5 replays before the play by play guy admits that Datsyuk's defensive play on Gomey starts it off. Sheesh. Don't get me wrong, Gomey was flying out there, but those guys were such Homers it was driving me nuts. Congrats to Marian Hossa, nice goals Huds and Sammy. Excellent victory. Was nice to see the crowd getting into it when they did. Datsyuk was my number one star.

Whats with the frikin music over the JustinTV feed? Anyone? Its killin me!
-
Not necessarily. It could be that Malkin is an awesome guy too, they somehow have just developed this rivalry for reasons unknown to us. OK, probably not, chances are you are correct. Malkintent is a bit of jaggoff. Edit: Went for the BOLD

That in itself takes a special talent, as some posted here before me. The thing is, an NFL running back can "run to daylight" and an NBA player can split seems and get to the open spot. But the speed of the NHL game is so much faster than any other team sport, and with people changing direction so incredibly fast, that the time the open spot is actually open is miniscule. Split second, and its not open any more. I've never seen Barnstorm play, but a frikin hat trick in your first NHL game, then another goal two games later, thats a helluva beginnning to a career, no freakin doubt about it.

Hmmph.

Welcome to the world wide home of the Detroit Red Wing fans. And new guy brings the feed, I guess, well done, Squire.
-
Yeah thanks. Being out west without cable I gotta watch Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary fumble and bumble around playing each other all the time. But they always get up for the WIngs. Just like CHicago, St Louis, and Nashville do. And then the big reason its so hard to repeat as Cup Champs. people always say its the hangover and the lack of motivation. Well I think the biggest obstacle is because everybody is at their best when then play you. "Ahh, we're gonna play Tampa tomorrow, BFD" But the Cup Champs, oh we better bring or "A" game. I don't mean to sound like a Homer, thats just the way it is.

listenning to Vancouver's Team 1040 today, they had Canucks color guy Tom Larsheid on. He talked at length about the great legends that have worn the Winged Wheel. He said teams always get up for a game against Detroit, and doubly so now that they are Stanley Cup Champs. Made me realize: To be the best, you have to beat the best. But to stay the best, you have to beat every body at their best. The Canucks will be at their best tonite. Its against Detroit, whom they always get up for, and its the first game after the shallacking in Washington. They have a lot to prove tonite in figuring out their new identity. Detroit will have its hands full. 4-3 Canucks. I certainly hope I'm wrong.

I agree 100%, I love that frikin guy for what he did here. But I don't miss, instead I look back on his time here and smile big time.
-
While those were great times while he was a Red Wing, I don't necessarily miss him. I guess I'm so old (43) that I realize there is a season for everything and nothing lasts forever. Yeah, he was a great Red Wing. Skill, strength, fists, humor, he had it all. I especially like the "We're not worthy" bow down to Yzerman as Stevie comes out of the lockerroom.
-
Sad. Good info, thanks, but you're right, its kinda sad to see him go this way.
-
Looking at your avatar, I can see why you might like some black in the Wings jersey.
-
While i do think that the black Wings practice jersey is awesome, I don't think they should have a 3rd game jersey. Alternate or 3rd Jerseys seem to be for teams trying to create more hype around their team. The Wings don't need more hype. Throwback or retro jerseys are for teams trying to create the fealing of nostalgia. The Wings are the epitome of living nostalgia, they are Original Six, and currently in the middle of a dynasty. There is so much history and legend behind the Wings jerseys. And whats more, is that there is nothing that can be done to a Wings jersey to improve upon the two they already have. I would feal let down if I went to one game a year, and it happened to be one when they were wearing the 3rd. I think the one's who would like to see the Wings in an alternate 3rd jersey the most would be the other 29 teams of the NHL.

Gosh, its been at least four months since this topic last came up. Like I usually say about it: The only way you are going to see Fedorov's number hanging from the rafters is if you take your old Fedorov jersey out of your dog's bed and hang it in the rafters of your garage. Problem solved.
