I agree. The Wings have been so good the last 5 years, they have played on skill and talent and systems, but hockey is also a game of emotion and the playoffs exemplify that fact. McCarty can bring the emotion that has been missing, the intangibles. (Schinderella schtory, 5th hole, par 5...itsh in the hole!)

I've read your post saying that he took a 5yr. $40mil deal with Analheim, after we offered him a 4yr. $40mill deal. Thats effectively playing the 5th yr. in Analheim for free. Thats a visiting town discount just to spite the home town team. I never said he was greedy, I think he was a very talented egotistical airhead. Even if those terms aren't accurate (franky I don't remember or care that much) he left because he felt Detroit wasn't pampering him like he wanted. But now, he just might take a hometown discount to be back. Hmm. I guess we'll see.

I figured it must have been here some where but after a certain amount of research that turned up nothing, I thought I'd post it. If you read down the link some people seem to think he was teasing the shooter as if to say the shooter was blind (blind man dance) and other people seem to think he was saying that even if he were blind he still could have stopped the shooter. Do you have any certain explanation for his demonstration? Is it a common European thing, or did he improv it on the spot? I think he is teasing the shooter for not seeing him coming, as if the shooter is the blind man. Either way, I like his passion.

I agree, most of them look like idiots. Its got a lot to do with why I don't watch the NFL anymore.(I miss Barry!) He must have been getting sick of the shoot outs making it tuff on goalies so he saw a guy with his head down and went for it. Either way, he cracks me up. Score one for the goalies!

I don't understand why you seem to have a problem with him seeming to have a problem with the original poster seeming to have a problem with the Ducks.

I think the music is, at best, distracting from the hockey. The organ is good, but I've never liked DJ music during sports.

The ones that signed Tootoo adhere to a very different school of thought than the Red Wings, a different idea of what type of team they want to put on the ice, which is why I am a big Wings fan and not a Preds fan. Kinda like Gary Bettman, not dumb, just has really bad ideas.

I don't think anyone here would disagree about the desire for hard working player that would fight for the Wings every night.

He is not playing hockey, he his playing some version of WWF/roller derby on skates. The main thing is that he has no respect for anyone. You can hate each other out on the ice, but still have respect. Chris Chelios is hated but respected. McCarty will fight as hard as he can like his friends life depends on it, then comes at the end, he taps the guy on the back shoulder as says good fight. Thats what its all about. Its a game, its got rules and parameters and tradition. Tootoo doesn't get it. Finishing a check isn't lining up a guy from 40 feet away and leaving the ice to blindside him at 25mph plus. Especially when you just left a wide open spot on the ice to do it. Thats bad hockey. The guy has no character, no brains. In the lockerroom and on the ice, the other guys are embarrassed of his tactics. Thats why in the video there wasn't a big brawl after the little puke got clotheslined, just an obligatory bear hug, his teammates weren't about to stick up for him, they know he's a major ass and a disgrace. It will never happen because the Red Wings organization is not stupid enough to get Jordon Tootoo. He is nothing but a liability in every sense of the word.

Congatulations. You have just written the single most wrong thing I have ever read in my entire life. I would HATE the RED WINGS if they signed that little puke. I would lose all respect for Holland, Illitch, Yzerman and anyone else remotely associated with bringing him to Detroit. Tootoo is the single biggest looser in the National Hockey League. No, its not a case of "once he's in a Wings jersey I'll like him" Let me make myself clear, I hate that little f*****. I would take Pronger over him. If Claude Lemiuex and Jordon Tootoo were the only two players left in the draft for me to start my hockey team, I would pull out a gun and shoot them both in cold blood and I would go take up soccer.
