Thats all I needed to see of his resume. Lets get him.
-
Priceless, Bro.
-
Its ok, we're hockey fans, not triathalon fans! Yeah awesome pics! Anybody else tuck the old sweater into the pants, or is he the only one?
-
Thanks for linking the video. Great to see Mac play. I guess we've all aged since Hockeytown III in 2002.
-
SWEET! I wasn't literally that guy in Section 18, but I'm that guy alright.
-
I don't remember if it was in Hockeytown III or ESPN's The Season, but I like the clip of Cheli talking about getting traded to the Wings and being unsure about what was gonna happen when entering the lockerroom for the first time. He walked in and looked around and said something like "you guys alright with this?" and they looked at him and said,"hey, you're a Red Wing now, thats all that matters."
-
Doing "Vice President" stuff, apparently.
-
of course all players make some mistakes, but I think the last I saw of downie was behind our own net, he fanned on the puck trying to scrape it off the zamboni door, the opposition grabbed it and scored. Honestly it could have been rafalski, (scrunched up jersey, 8 coulda looked like a 0 maybe) but at that moment I just remember thinking skill>grit.

Any idea how he is adjusting to his new job? What the main focus of his job is? With all due respect to the current team, I really feal this ticket slump is partly related to the fact that he is not on the ice anymore. I don't really remember the Wings before him. I know there are more factors than just that, but there is still a personality void on that team. Somehow, us working guys could just relate to him. Lidstro seems like he's wearing a suit and tie out there, Z seems like he's wearing imported slacks, all GQ, etc, but I feal like Stevie Y was like me but the best. We sure were fortunate to have Steve Yzerman in Detroit for all those years.

Because there is so much redundant BS regarding wether he can make it or not bla bla bla. The fact of the matter is he is up off his ass, not complaining about having lost it all and blown the one life he's got to live. He's at it taking the first steps. And so far it sounds like some people are getting to see some good hockey because of it. I am very interested in his progress, and obviously I'm not the only one. The more I say he cannot do it, the more I believe there is absolutely no way, the more the door seems to grudgingly creek open ever so slightly. Its a huge door, on broken rusty hinges, but stranger frikin things have happenned. If anyone wants to ***** about me suggesting a new thread and this thread Icemunkee started (and its all good if thats your opinion), just please do me huge favor, email me or start another thread called "WHo is this frikin T.Low Butthead", but don't do it here. Let these guys mark Mac for the fans that are interested, its a fan forum, he was beloved a Wing as there ever was, let the thread run. Sweet first post, IceMunkee. Perfect. That sounds like a lot of fun to have seen. Thanks for the heads up. If he busts himself tomorrow and its done, sounds like he gave it hell. Can't wait to see that Hasek thread. Kinda the whole point of the forum in the first place, isn't it?

Agreed. Nothing said in the last 2 pages of this thread that wasn't already said in the first 2 pages, just maybe meaner. We should let this thread die its due death, and next Generals game or relevant news break, start a new thread called Marking McCarty or something to just keep tabs on his progress. Even though I know he doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell, I'm still damn interested in his progress. I know he can't make it but it sure would be great if he did. I'm conflicted. I feel like that guy in Animal House when the drunk chick passes out in his bed, the Angel pops up on one of his shouders and the Devil pops up on the other and they argue about wether the kid should have sex with the passed out girl. Except i got Bettman on one shoulder and Don Cherry on the other. Bettman says Mcarty's washed up, no place in the new NHL for guys like him. Don Cherry says he's a beautiful Canadian boy with a heart of a Lion, he just wants to play the game of hockey, let him skate and give it try, what have ya got to loose. Let him skate, skate his brains out!

Thanks for the real info. I would be very interested to hear what his new teammates think about his presence there, his attitude, his performance, and the overall idea. Are they thinking its a joke with this old frikkin dude, or are they thinking "holy s***, this is a man on a mission, and I'm digging playing with this guy"? Especially his lines mates, and I always like to get the goalies opinions because they have such a unique perspective on the ice.

Defensively, all I care about is who is gonna handle The Ducks better. At times, at even strength, it looked like a power play the way the Getzlaf and Perry were dominating puck possession in the Wings zone in last years series. Who will put a stop to that? Will Blake be an upgrade in that situation?
-
How cute is she?
-
Yeah, that'll do it. I can see Pronger saying "I hate playing Detroit, they got sprinkles on their cake, that scares the hell outta me and Neids. " neidermier: "hate the f***in sprinkles" Brian Nurke: "Detroit just upped the ante for the entire league with those sprinkles. Now how are we gonna keep a lid on it! There's no place for sprinkles in todays NHL."
-
I don't like the jerseys either, but I agree that its a great idea having original six meets with throwbacks. I absolutely love the two Wings jerseys, and think it would be awesome to add a special alternate jersey in black with red trim. The Lions should wear there throwbacks as staandards, they're sweet.
-
Thats true. Simple supply and demand. At least I get to watch the Wings on TV tonite, Hockey Night in Canada.
-
We'll see just how good holland and Co. are once he has to live in a salary cap world with a level playing field like everybody else.
-
What was that 4rth line, Igor, Luc, and Holmer?
-
That means I'll have to take a week off from watching.Ahhg!

Dude, your avatar, is that the famed Australian Fuzzy Masked Pit Bull or what? Its as cute as a Filppula goal! Where can I get one?

. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/5925-NH...ars_Game-070108 Oh here we go. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/allstar2007/...ge=07youngstars Ahhh, woops, thats last year...holy s***, look at Pittsburgh, and thats not even with Crosby! Getzlaf's a frikkin manchild! searching , searching This info paisted from a 2003 CHL.ca website: The game is open to players 25 and under who are playing on entry-level contracts. The Young Stars players were selected by the NHL's Hockey Operations Department, in consultation with NHL General Managers. The game will consist of three 10-minute periods using running time with 15-second stops after goals. If the score is tied after three periods, a sudden-death shootout will determine the winner. So with that info in mind, what Wings are on entry level contracts that might make the team? Sorry, can't find any '08 rosters at this time.

That is so frikkin what I meant that I have to try saying it myself: this is exactly what i'm getting at. the best players will play. just because a guy is nhl ready that doesn't necassarily mean that he's red wings ready. Wow. That felt great. RIGHT ON!

President Bush (not that I'm a Bush wacker, but it works best using him) is breifed by Rumsfeld at a security meeting. Rumsfeld: "Mr President, 11 Brazillian delegates were killed in Irag today as their embassy was blown up by a suicide bomber" Bush, leaning over to Cheney, whispers in his ear: "Dickey, remind me again, how many is a brazillion?"
