Agreed. NOT overrated. So often the playoffs are one goal games. When Zetterberg already has two goals, and Holmer got his off the PP. You're fighting for every inch of ice out there. Opportunites to score are at a premium. You can't screw up when those opportunities present themselves. Its during those precious, fleeting moments when Forsburg can go in for the kill , when others don't even recognize the opportunity exists, or cannot capitalize on it, and its gone. And the game is lost. So the series is lost. But no, before anyone really saw the vulnerability, it was exploited by Forsberg and the game was won, 4-3 in the final 5 minutes. Savior? No. Final piece to the puzzle? Could be.

I Do Not Like Jordan Tootoo. I wonder if those from his little village of Iknigligat (sp?) are ashamed of him or if they all think the same way he does. Its a shame that he's gotta be such an arse on the ice and can't just play a good tuff game of hockey. WTF?
-
Don't sugar coat it, dude, tell us how you really feel.
-
Sweet! Its fun to hear Ray Ferraro on the Team 1040 radio in Vancouver talk about how hard Zetterberg works to get the puck when he doesn't have it.
-
Good point. I should rephrase that: One or two years of a "7" figure salary could really make a difference in his familie's future.
-
Agreed. You picture Jiri out of hockey, sitting at home with Pepsi and Doritos, looking thru the jobs.com hoping to find something in the $65k area or something... Its a tough call. One or two years at a good 6 figure salary could really make a difference in his families future. On the other hand, of course...

Dman showed good speed and agility to get in to the bench like that Yeah, he's the guy I want on my blue line. He will never live that down. Whats up with the guy doing ariels into the opposing bench? Look Ma, no brains!

That team has been in a tailspin ever since they traded away Garth Butcher. Talk about a team with an identity crisis. Naslund is a good hockey player but he is no "C". Time to move him and Morrison Not one person here sounded like they were laughing at the injuries, how on earth could you come up with that? I am, however, chuckling that only someone from Ann Arbor would reply that way.

I too think its a good assessment. However, I thought you were going to bring up the point Paul Woods made on the radio last night. He said that while people are commenting on the lack of a big gritty dman, most of those guys don't have the talent for the great breakout passing that the Wings dmen posses, and thats where so much of the offense comes from.

I'm suprised that no one has really brought this up before, but I think the low attendence figures also reflect (among other things, of course) the fact that Steve Yzerman is not playing, and to a certain extent, the combination of Yzerman and Shanahan not being on the ice. It may take a while for the more casual fan to get familiar with the second and fourth lines. My dad used to know all the lines and watch all the games, said he hasn't watched a game yet this year and hardly knows anyone on the team anymore. The Red Wings have alwasy been a target for other teams. Its great to see how this board has gone from "oh no, we got no one on our team" to "we got exciting hockey"!

Did you ever see Legacy's Harley when he would keep at the dealership during the season? His Wings logo and a mural of his facemask on the rear fender. Sweet. The guys at the dealership said he would go on all the group rides during his off season.

Anyone watching the game online? Link me?

At the risk of divulging my own ignorance, is this the same Ron Wilson from MSU Hockey? Did he end up at SJ?
-
Yeah, kinda like Michael Vick and drowning and strangling dogs.

Who needs Wikipedia when we've got Jaytan.

Gotta love Drapes. I heard he mountianbikes to stay in shape. I'd be suprised if he did anything halfway extreme, but still I'm curious as to which bike he rides. I'm guessing he rides an old school hardtail.

Sensible. Highly doubtful that he'll ever end up in Detroit, but one never knows. The call to Holland for a Hasek deal came right outta the frikin blue, didn't it? Who amongst us would have ever predicted that? The same guy who started this thread, thats who. Nonis (Van's GM) is young and if the Knuckleheads don't get it together soon his replacement just might want to rid the farm of the old cattle and start over again and who knows, Luongo would bring in a load of youngen's. Of course he's a fan favorite already and a great foundation to start building a team on but stranger deals have happenned. At this point the Knucks are NOT worthy of his play, thats for sure. As far as "someday" being able to steal a playoff game like someone previously mentioned hell his first playoff game ever he had like 50 saves and basically stole the whole series last year. I'm pretty sure the dude is there already.

He would really open up the ice and make a lot of room for someone like Huddler to take advantage of and score. Forsberg Philly Experience was all about the assists not so many goals himself. He will draw a crowd, someone like Huds gets open and scores. He's tough, smart, talented, experienced and relentless, and I trust that Holland will know if the New Price is Right.

Oh c'mon. You act like Osgood is 6-0 and is top five in all three goalie stats or something... Uhm, yes, I'd like to purchase one ticket for the Ozzie Train to Lord Stanley's Cup, please. All ABOARD!!!

And we all know what garauntees come with playoff seedings! (sorry, souldn't resist) Personally I like the psyche of being a lower seed Red Wing team. Opponents can get a little nervous being seeded above the Wings instead of feeling like the underdog. But if teams are already so worried about the ZDH, then the addition of Forsberg can really overwhelm them.

Well, we did outshoot 'em 34-16, holding the Oil to a meesley 3 shots in the final peirod during a 1-1 tie in thier barn...there is something to be said for that, though. But we can't keep letting teams hang around all game, we've all seen the lucky bounce at the end of the game go their way (into the Wings net!). Toast to the Victory!

Here ya go, bro. http://www.nhl.tv/team/console?hlg=20072008,2,159 I like Alain Vigneault taking notes after Hudler's goal: "Remember to ask scouts who the hell this little Hudler fella is"

Walled Lk. Central Vikings Class of '82, Baby! InterLakes Basketball Champions!

You must be: a) bigger than me. b) younger than me c)nastier than me d) some combination of all of the above OK. How does British Columbia end up with so many Red Wing fans? I'm origianlly from Commerce Township (Walled Lk Schools, hence the bad spelling ) and travelled a bit and ended up in Bellingham, Wa. , 90 seconds drive to the local ice rink. Are most of you from Ontario?
