Dom is probably scouting fashion. He has his clothing company back in the Czech Replublic. Vancouver is a very hip internationally influenced city. As far as being a Wings fan at a Canucks game...many times I've been the only cracker playing basketball on the courts in downtown Detroit. I've been in "situations" shall we call them, all over the world. Now I live an hour south of Vancouver. The only time I was ever really nervous in my life is in Vancouver at a Wings game wearing my Wings Chelios jersey. Yes, sir, ree. Matter of fact, I won't do it again. edit: typo

Lord knows I'm not a vindictive man...except when it comes to the Wings. I'd have to agree with Snepts. One last opinion about Todd Playoff-Beard-Tuzzi; the guys been in the spot light for all the wrong reasons too much of his career. By going to Anaheim, he gets protected by Burke, and hides in the ananimity of Southern Cal being anything but a hockey knowledgable town. He is low man on the media radar. He can play mediocore, collect the big $4m, and who's gonna think twice about it. Anaheim's as easy as its gonna get for Beardtuzzi.

All I have to say about the Ducks is that I think they kept the wrong end of their original name. It would have been way cool to go with "The Anahiem Mighty". Just think of the possiblities for a logo and mascot and its just a hell of a lot cooler than The Ducks. Here, give it a try: "The Anaheim Mighty". Kinda cool, huh. Other than that, I don't have too much to say about the Mighty... I mean the Ducks.

Very legitimate question. I'm just thinking that he's got more guys than ever hanging off him and thats why Z was wide open the other nite against SJ and why Holmer's got more goals than Crosby so far. Everyone is collapsing onto Datsyuk and its creating more space for Z and Holmer. Against SJ, three guys totally collapsed on Datsyuk (plus the goalie) and he floated one over to a wide open Z for the easy score. Sorta like having Barry Sanders and Billy Simms in the backfield at the same time, with...uhmm...can't think of a good Lions quarterback in recent histrory...but you get the idea. If they concentrate on trying to shut down Barry, Billy Simms would have run wild.

My favorite is in Hockeytown III, a shot of Stevie Y and Mac on the bench and Mac shouts out "Who's UP?!?" for a shift change and Stevie Y glances over at him like he's nuts, then Mac grins and says " I love doing that" and they both bust out into laughter like a couple of high school kids or something. Love that video.

Respectfully speeking, I don't think thats ever been much of the issue. I think the main question has been how much would you sign him for? My formula: (Big guy)+(Enormous talent)-(tons 'o baggage)-(questionable health)-(history of being a bit of a wanker (read headcase))=$2.5, mayyyybe $2.75 tops, mayyyybe not.

I hate to laugh when guys get hurt, but watching Grier kinda whimper and pout as he made his way off the ice. The whole thing was like an Ice Capades skit, like they actually audition guys for the part of the collision. Grier looked like Roscoe chasing the Duke Boys and winding up crashing into another police car as the Dukes get away yet again! Vintage Pavel Datsyuk. Just a good ole boy...never meaning no harm...just a skatin and a scoring since the day he was born.

Exactly. Whats the going rate for a washed up, big and talented, oft injured, former almost was-been with more baggage than Paris Hilton. I'd have to think far less than $4mil. Must be due to the 4 SOG total for the 3rd period. Fun to listen to Larsheid and Shorthouse on the Vancouver feed. They really have great things to say about the Wings organization, and love the ZDH, especially how hard Z and D work on defense, and how awesome Lidstrom is. I realized tonite how awesome it is to listen to the game on the Bose headphones. Picks out individual crowd shouts, rattles on the boards, its great. Lets review: Canucks come out guns a blazin and score. 12 seconds later Wings score Wings score on text book two on one with less than one minute remaing in first period. Did this totally deflate the Nucks? Are they done? They gave it their best only to loose the period. Or will they fight back. Stay tuned...Go Wings.

Canucks can use this game to turn their season around. They can really elevate their game for the Wings. Listneing to the Vancouver feed, the announcers really respect the Wings, they always have good hockey at GM Place when the Wings visit said there is no line more dangerous than the ZDH. The city of Vancouver likes good hockey and they know they're going to get it when Detroit comes to town. Could be a tough game.

He has more goals than Crosby at this point.

Could it be possible that he is actually fit enough to play in Russia, and was simply that ignorant of the level of committment it takes to play at the professeional level in North America? Is it possible he got on the ice and watched everyone blowing by him and thought "holy freakin crap, these guys are amazing! Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be like this!" In other words, did he not care, or did he not know? Perhaps we will have the answer by this time next year. Eitherway, by looking at his stat history, I'm not expecting anything. Maybe he'll be a pleasant suprise someday, but most likely will just be a millionaire playing hockey in Russia.
