Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?
T.Low replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
I think Kesler and Pavel would have great chemistry, and Kesler can do enough of the same types of things Z does that he would eleviate that need for Z and D to line together. For some reason, I can see Kesler and Franzen getting bitchy with each other if things don't spark right away. NyQ, Z, Mule is quite formidable. -

At the risk of taking this tangent too far, it was good to see Teemu able to take Shane OBrien's punishment in the corners and he didn't even flinch, let alone come close to being bothered and knocked off his game. -

That line was dominating. The two teams were tied coming into the game. Griffs poured it on in the 2nd out shooting 17-7. -
I think, once again, Gillis is not in the best position to deal. First, Hodgson wanted out , so Gilly traded him for Kassian, which looks pretty bad these days and caught hell from the media. Then the Luongo Bungle. Gilly decided to do things differently than the Hodgson deal, tries to play hardball and ends up changing plans and dumping Schnied for a pick, still stuck with Louie and some egg on his face, looking bad again. Kesler let the cat out of the bag at the Olympics saying he wanted a trade. Loungo added a bit more pressure on Gilly by stating " it doesn't matter what he wants, it ain't happening ", ( I paraphrase from memory). Now, Gilly doesn't know if he needs to get what he can get in a hurry to move the problem out the door, or play hardball trying to get full value for Kesler. Inaction will look like he's a deer in the headlights again, creating a distraction around the team again, and I think he'd be happy filling the position (2C) and getting a prospect, and maybe a pick. I live just across the border from this media storm, and let me tell you, it's relentless. He wants to button this up. Same with Edler. Media guys are in disbelief that Edler has not been moved yet. Rightly or wrongly, the fans and media perceive this team to be stale and time to shake it up. That's why I think we can get it done with Weiss, (2C to adequately fill the position) Quincey, Andy, prospect (Almquist or Jarnkok) and a pick. Gillis sounds super stressed out and ornery on the radio interviews, almost like he's taking night classes at the Brian Burke Institute of Media Relations. Kesler-Datsyuk-Alfie Nyquist-Helm-Franzen Tatar- Sheahan-Jurco Miller-Abby-Eaves Glenny-Bert Kronner-ERock Edler-Dekeyser Smith-Lashoff Kindle Playoffs: Kessler-Datsyuk-Alfie Nyquist-Zetterberg-Franzen Tatar-Sheahan-Jurco Abby-Helm-Miller That lineup can compete with anyone. I've caught some s*** from the LGW Direspecting Faithful for this idea already, so this is the last time I'll bore you all with it. :-)

Trial date set in Steve Moore’s lawsuit against Todd Bertuzzi

What is Steve Moore's current condition? Will the court take into account the fact that Bert hasn't amounted to s*** since? :-). "There are two victims here, your Honor". -
I'd actually prefer Kesler and Erhoff. Canucks haven't been the same since Erhoff left. But it would be cheaper to get two guys from the same team.

I went to the Griffins vs Abbotsford Heat game last night. Pukks was every where scoring 2goals, and Jarnkok looked real good. Almquist showed great vision and skil. I can see why teams would want them in trade, and I'd be ok packaging them in the right deal. I'd think Nyquist is untouchable, and it would take a big name to pry Tatar lose. -

It's one thing to claim there a no worthy players available and then crack on LGWers for thinking there are, but it's a completely different issue not agreeing with the validity of suggested trades. Figure out which issue you want to crack on, then stick with it. -

Hmm, like Kesler and Edler, Gold and Silver medal Olympians with SCF experience. -

In regards to his "future earnings", Wasn't Moore a borderline 4rth liner, with a pretty unsure hockey future? -

I'd imagine Gilly would want/need a center for Kesler. Their centerman cupboard is bare, so Weiss and Andy would stock it up well. -

They are already building the scaffold anyway. 89% of fans polled expect Canucks will not make the playoffs and most think it's Gillies fault, per Team 1040. -

Why not, especially if he can be swapped in a package with Kesler? Kesler could be a perfect fit for Pavs wing this season, and he already let it out of the bag that he wants to leave Vancouver, so Gilly may have to cut bait, and Weiss gives him a supposed solid 2C. Their contracts are tradable. Edler has been rumored all season. While he's not the 2nd Coming, so to speak, he'd certainly add the puck moving element we've sorely missed. Quincey is certainly serviceable to Vancouver's system to satisfy the "hockey trade" portion of the equation, and sell Almquist as the next Rafalski, and those contracts are tradeable . Throw in Andy to sweaten the deal so they can stack Sedin, Weiss, Santorelli, and Andy down the middle. They move two guys who desperately need a change of scenery, both of whom could instantly make us contenders. And they receive quality roster players that can contribute as well as undervalued prospect AA. It's a win/win and the contracts work. I heard Kesler's sound bite on the radio, but he can't admit yes to that question, especially after Luongo saga. More accurately, Erhoff was asked for a list of 8 teams that he would not go to, per Vancouvers Team 1040. -

How bout Weiss, Anderson, Quincey, and Almquist for Kesler, Edler, and prospect. Kesler-Datsyuk- Alfy Nyquist- Helm- Franzen Tatar-Sheahan-Jurco Abby-glendening/eaves/miller/ Kronwall-Ericsson Edler-DeKeyser Smith-Lashoff Kesler scores like crazy when he's on Sedins wing. He's a Diva, but maybe Wings leadership can keep him in check. -

I've always wondered, do they give tours of the statue of limitations like they do the statue of liberty? Edit: ;-) -

38 shots on goal, and some missed wide open opportunities by Ottawa, I'm amazed it wasn't 6-4, but I'll take it! Awesome to see Shea, Tats, and Jurco pouring it on! -

Excuse me, ladies, I hate to interrupt, but have any of you seen an "injury update" thread? I could have sworn it was right here a minute ago...
