Obviously, it hasn't inspired anybody, yet... It's not messing with history, it's trying to tweak the current team's psyche. -

Too bad the Canucks were stupid enough to piss him off. Moving Kesler to wing with him at Center and Burrows at the other wing the Canucks would have an awesome second line right now. And they should've kept Sammy at wing with the Sedins so we wouldn't have that problem right now. Ha ha. -
He might shoot the lights out on the Sedin line or if they go with a bigger power forward like Kassian on that line he could be a good fit with Kessler and Burrows. Their PP could be scary good. I didn't think they had any Cap room.

Torts said the twins were really fighting each other in the race, all the way to the very end. He said it's unbelievable how they push each other. He's hoping the youngsters watching the example. -

Exactly, like the time we picked up Dan Cleary. -

I heard the interview on Vancouver's team 1040. Wasn't that big of a deal. He said Twitter has its place; he and his wife organize a charity dog walk that brings in a lot of money for Humane Society. He said Twitter was great promoting the event. All he really said was that of course what goes on in the locker room stays in the locker room and not on Twitter. Narcissistic comment was when pro athletes feel the need to tweet" eating a roast beef sandwich then I'm going to the bathroom", and that was actually pretty damn funny. So far the Vancouver media thinks he's awesome. He has given some excellent interviews with a lot of hockey insight. -
Regardless of Nyquist starting in GR or Detroit, it's an Olympic year condensed schedule and lots of Wings are also playing in the tournament, so we will have plenty of injuries. Nyquist the Ginja Ninja and Tatar will both see plenty of ice time, and we'll still see plenty of Griffs play up. I'm ok with him starting slow and getting hot down the stretch into the playoffs. It was a real short break for him after skating the Calder Cup around Syracuse.

Sounds like your neighborhood is a bit destroyed for real, eh? Hope you and yours are all safe. Vancouver's Team 1040 says Alfie may take #24, tells Cleary to keep 11. Edit: Keep in mind this is an Olympic year condensed schedule, plus the numerous Wings playing in the tournament. Wings will be going down with injury's. Nyquist and Tatar are going to see plenty of quality ice time, and Cleary will be seen as a fortuitous signing after all, and boys from GR will still get plenty of NHLgames in. -
Tried to give a spot to Brunner, but he wanted a different spot. We need Grabovski's attitude like we need another Helm injury. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaEijJip90I

Why this post isn't the end of the thread is a mystery to me. For the salary cap era that is a pretty damn good lineup.

I wish I could fly to Traverse City and shake Dan Cleary's hand. In this day and age of pro athletes chasing the Big $ at all costs, the guy walked away from millions of dollars, put his ego aside, crawled back to the negotiation table to eat some major crow, all so he could stay with friends, teammates, and an organisation and town that he loves. Cleary went toe to toe with one of Detroit's all time biggest nemesis, Chris Pronger, he went after Dion Phaneuf, knocking him silly, then getting an assist on the goal. He's scored numerous playoff game winning goals. Even when he's basically duck taped together, he's still finishing checks and jumping into scrums. He is a winner, he is the epitome of a team heart and soul guy, he has hands, grit, and smarts. He is a major contributor at all costs. $1.75m! Talk about a Hometown Discount! Totally glad he's back. And frankly, I can't see him really giving a s*** what number is on his jersey, as long as the logo is the Winged Wheel. -

Rookie you're most looking forward to watching this season
T.Low replied to Jaymister's topic in General
From Bill Roose on my Red Wings IPhone app. "Recently, Wings general manager Ken Holland alluded to a plan he has to shape the team's roster without having to trim salary or waive players. It's possible that Helm will start the season on injured reserve as he continues to recover from a lower back injury that sidelined him last season. Helm is also battling through a sore groin, which he sustained while skating with teammates last week. The Wings also have options with Nyquist, who could begin the season in Grand Rapids." -
Playoffs are all about ugly goals.

If you have to ask, then I'm afraid we can't help you

I read that since Holland can't trim the roster he is going to readjust it, meaning that Nyquist may start the season in GR. I am not a fan of this. I too would like to see Tatar Anderson and Nyquist on the third line. -
Be fun to see them switch Mantha for Franz en in that lineup for a few shifts, number one just to see how he does and number two to send a wee bit of a message. Ha ha ha

And Smith is always just a missed pinch away from a good whippin

Because Nyquist is meaner than Cleary.

Pronger will be very happy to see his old friend Cleary.
