  1. Apparently there is some denying, I saw it on the other thread.

With Berts vision and passing skills and the attention he still commands on the ice I can see Hank having a great year production wise with he and Datsyuk.

Like I said, Nyquist could be a great addition to z & D for certain matchups. But during the playoffs Nyquist would probably get bumped for a more physical player like Abby or Healthy Bert, Similar to Saad getting bumped for Bickell

Versus certain matchups you are right, it would be a lot of fun to watch. With other matchups Abby may work better, and other matchups still, Bert or even Mule may be the best optionThis roster certainly has its fair share of options. One option I'd like to see would be Mule Weise Bert. That line had it's moments in the past with Filapoola, like to try it with the new guy. Not to mention that line could then leave Z D Alf as the other top line. Z D Alf Mule Weise Bert Tatar Anderson NyQ Abby Helm Eaves

Odds of seeing the two Berts on the same line...I guess I'd have a better chance of winning the lotto. It'd be kinda cool, though.

    Time for this thread.

What forward is the Red Wings X Factor?

I was lazy in my thought; I should not of said that we would be in trouble, rather that we would be nothing special. Well, I guess for us, that is in trouble.

What forward is the Red Wings X Factor?

Nyquist and Tatar are X factor. If they have a sophomore slump, we are in trouble. If, collectively, they can elevate their game, we are in for three great lines and an exciting season..
  9. This is going to be exciting. It's been a while since we've had two new acquisitions in the top six.

Franzen: "I am not a goal scorer"

Why is everybody getting their panties in a ruff? It's nothing we don't already know. The guy is what he is, does what he does, and gets paid what he gets paid. He's not first and foremost a goal scorer. . Too bad, so sad. Not a news flash. He's an asset and a good value.
  12. Yeah like I said in my second paragraph there. And especially when you consider Keslers personality. He was so guarded and secret about his return even though the doctors had cleared him. He was actually kind of a dick about the whole thing. I guess I can see him wanting to get out of town, no matter which town he is playing in.
  13. I can't help but wonder why Kesler doesn't stay in Vancouver year round. This region is amazing in the summertime. I'm sure he has his reasons. Maybe he just wants some peace and quiet from the fans and media.

Threads like this are Gems. It is the reason I come back to LGW and put up with the 48 pages of BS in the 50 page Brunner Contract thread. Thanks a ton.

    Fox Sports 1 Debuts today

And Justin Beiber! Poor Canada, could have had it all; American ingenuity, French cuisine, and British culture. Instead they end up with French ingenuity, British cuisine, and American culture.

    Brunner Contract Talks

Not to mention the fact that $2.5 million a year IS cashing in for a $400,000 Swiss leaguer. And I'm sure we can all agree that playing in Detroit would be as good of a place to showcase his talents to the rest of the league to potentially earn more his next contract whether he stays or goes at that time.

    Brunner Contract Talks

And with all the injuries and Babcocks musical line combos he would end up spending plenty of time in the top six throughout the season anyway. I remember getting a funny feeling watching his locker room exit interview at the end of the season that he had already made up his mind to test the free-agent market. Anyone else see that little interview and get the same feeling?

ESPN/Sportscenter gives the NHL 2.7% of its time

Scott Shipley. Superman in a boat. Three World Championships. Nicest guy I have ever met. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IB1HTbOO9Go Graham Jarvis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R04GZSKm5lY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RluC1StXLc

ESPN/Sportscenter gives the NHL 2.7% of its time

What ESPN does or does not do is a moot point in my life. My sports are hockey, Whitewater slalom kayaking, and off-road motorcycle racing ( motocross and enduro). While ESPN knows who Sidney Crosby is, they don't know who Graham Jarvis or Scott Shipley are And those two are every bit as athletic, talented, skilled, and dedicated as Sidney Crosby but due to their obscure sports, nobody knows who they are. And I'm totally fine with that.

Rule 48: not working as planned.

Try skating up and down the ice with a concussion. The speed, velocity, and collision impact are all greater than ever and tweaking the rule book will not have a significant effect. Why has the head gear not evolved? I'm not saying you need to wear a NASCAR helmet or a military helmet. It was a simple illustration that the technology exists to develop a helmet that will both increase concussion protection and still be light weight and hockey-able, and aesthetically pleasing. LOL Change the rules back. How'd that work out for Lindros and LaFontaine and all the others?

Rule 48: not working as planned.

Night and day difference between a NASCAR helmet and a hockey helmet. The technology exists.
