Your lines are too close to what we've been panfully watching all season. Nyq Dats Tats would totally dazzle; Helm would relieve Z to go back to his scoring ways of yesteryear; Franzen, Anderss and Bert would be really tuff to play against. Just when the opponent thinks they got it, put Bert and Johan with Dats and send Nyq and Tats down to Anderss.

I really like Valterri, but every now and then I can't help but wonder if we kept the wrong Filp? Illari seemed more goal oriented, and that's what we lack.

It's really a struggle for me to find room for Brunner. I really like the guy and want him to do well, but unless he starts scoring again, I honestly see Nyq and Tatar as harder on the puck and eventually becoming a decent scoring line with Dats. Or it's Nyq Dats Tats Filp Z Brunner Franzen Helm Bert Abby Anders Eaves/Toots I'd really like to see "The Nightmare on Helm St". up with Filp and Z; Holy Crap.

With Crosby and Malkin, playing in Pittsburgh is going to be like semi retirement for Iginla: He'll have a helluva lot less responsibility and a lot more success in every aspect. The weight of the world is off his shoulders. After all the money he's made over the years, I wouldn't be suprised if he finds the comfort worth playing for less money for the next few years.

I was making the obvious point that even a low level guy like Emmerton makes more moey than he could possibly make dong anything else. Carmen is spot on. I went to UM and got an Econ Major, Poli Sci Minor because I wanted to learn how the world works. The Econ material was educational, but the Political Science was pure unadulterated indoctrination as oppossed to growth and development. Yes, the NHL is a major committment with major scrifice, but so is everything that comes with that pay scale. Cory Emmerton is getting paid more than the President of the United States of America.

Personally, this is exactly part of the appeal of Larry Murphy; he's an NHL veteran, not a polished broadcaster. He knows hockey and has real observations and real comments and doesn't necessarily care how things look or sound to people. Thats what I want in my Red Wings TV experience.

I realize it's a most minor point of your OP, but I have to comment on it: I really would not want to trade Tatar. Inspired Play is what we've been lacking this year and he has had it even when the team as a whole has not.

There is already a big void when Mickey makes a laughing inside joke type remark...about officiating or old time hockey, or whatever...murph was always a great sidekick, always there to add to Mickey's line of thinking...making it even more funny...now it's a one and done comment as Daniels continues to call the play by play without commenting... There's obviously more to the story than we know.
